International Shipping Label Creation Fails Every Time on 2018-01-20 and later. Error Code: 64541

Each time I try to print an international postage mailing label for a First Class package shipping I get the same error message below.

"We're having trouble printing your label. We had a problem retrieving the label.

[Error: 64541-Content type Documents is only supported for First Class Mail International]"

eBay Support does not give much detail on the matter.  Agents and Supervisors tried to resort to canned responses over a few different calls.  They even attempted to push me off to PayPal support without any reason.

On a subsequent call I recevied a little more detail. By not much. Below is the eBay Support response when I asked them to create a ticket for tracking and send it to my eBay Messaging inbox.  An aside for this issue is even the creation of that eBay support ticket took several attempts before the agent was able to accomplish the request.

BTW.  It seems PayPal is also having the same issue when I try to print an international postage mailing label using PayPal shipping.  When the attempt is made on the PayPal site the process to print the label fails.   So eBay Support' attempt on one call to push me off to PayPal Support was a useless action on their part.

Perhaps the entire back end server platform both eBay and PayPal use to create international postage mailing labels has failed during on of their internal updates?

Anyone else seeing these issues on eBay and PayPal?

Also having same problem since Sunday afternoon. Tried again this morning and still no luck. Does anyone know how this will affect our standings if we can't ship out today? If this isn't fixed early enough for me to ship out today from the post office instead of my carrier pick up I will be dinged because I didn't ship within my one day for top rating status.

January 22, 2018 Same issue and error prompt shipping to New Zealand and anything international.

Frustrating and time waster when we are all trying to service our customers!  Come on eBay USPS and PayPal fix this!  Are you going to ding me for poor performance and late shipping tracking because your platform has a glitch?

I was just advised the same thing from the eBay rep. She said they are forwarding all complaints and will hopefully reassess their decision to stop letting us use First Class International shipping.

We already pay extra for taking international orders. As I told the eBay rep, if they take away the shipping discount, I will stop selling worldwide. It's not worth it to me to have eBay take more of my earnings and have this hassle.

If it's not fixed by 1/22, I'll be going USA only.

Anyone hear of a timeline on this? It would be great to know.  I need a plan. I'm backed up by 10 or so already.

My investigation yesterdays leads me to believe ( a guess now) that there needs to be a split for First Class International between documents and packages. This would require updates on 2nd and 3rd party platforms ( USPS being 1st ).  That does not include what sellers will need to do after, if anything.

I am having the same problem.  Both eBay & Paypal are not wotking when trying to print international labels.  Prabably has something to do with the increased price of shipping.  This needs to be resolved quickly.  I have 4 orders that I can't ship already

I am still getting this error code: [Error: 64541-Content type Documents is only supported for First Class Mail International]".  I had to go to USPS Click & Ship to print an international label.  This is too much trouble and not worth the effort and expense (no discount).  I have changed my settings to "NO INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING" until they get this fixed. If they don't fix it, I just won't sell internationally any more.  Lots of international parcels get lost anyway. I recently started selling on Amazon.  Much more user freindly.

Is the Us customs office closed due to the government shut down, The error says only documents( Like letters) can be sent. These do not go through customs.

It's not related to the shutdown. USPS now has new designations for international first class mailings-- one for documents, one for packages. I don't think the on-line giants are programmed for this yet. It's costing me money, too.

Absolutely we all seem to be. Ebays response to me was that the item showed as first class mail document which is not true. On the shipping page it says first class international mail shipping package,\.

The Ebay girl wanted to keep arguing with me that this was a USPS probelem and not theirs. I just came fronm the Post Office and they siad there has been NO CHANGE. Ebay basically lied to me.

Post office has the exact same international shipping prices as Ebay print label page without my discount of course.

I also tried to print on PayPal page (no discount) just to get these out on time and they are not printing there. This issue needs to be fixed!!! Will hurt my seller rating now because I am not shipping on time.

With such a big problem as this you would thing all Ebay operators would be properly informed instead of making up **bleep**.

Just came from post office and there is no problem sending your over seas parcels First Class Mail. Just have to do things old school and fill out the customs form. So Feebay just drags their heels to get lower rates and don't pass on to the seller...that's their version of negotiations with post office...

I've been on the phone with eBay twice. The latest customer rep said until USPS supplies the module to eBay for first class International packages, the problem will continue and no labels will be printed. 

I advised eBay I will be stopping International selling until the problem gets fixed. 

You can change what countries you ship to under site preferences...but, your listings will still show worldwide. What you'll need to do is a 'bulk edit' of all of your listings. Next, click on manage International shipping. You'll see the option of 'No International shipping'. Click on that and update. Now your listings will show 'Ships to: United States.' 

Hopefully this is a short term problem and is remedied quickly.

Same issue here.  If I can't print First Class Mail International Package labels thru Ebay anymore then no more International shipping for me.
