How to use my personal Postal account for shipping

Anonymous
Not applicable

(Sorry it's me, the PITA, Again) When I sell an item, in many cases, I can ship a tracked envelope and supply tracking. This is a big issue for me and domestic shipping. (Canada) My rates to USA addresses seems to be equally good with EBay's parcel options. I can check prior to listing but don't know where the option is after a sale.

Are you referring to a Canada Post small business account?   If you print your labels through ebay on .ca you will get the small business level one rate so if you are just starting out you will receive the same rate as you would on the CP Snap Ship site.  But if you print your label on ebay you wouldn't actually be using your own account, you would be using ebay's account which means that you would never go above the level 1 discount.

If you want to get credit for each parcel so that you eventually reach other discount levels, you can do so through the Snap Ship site. Or, you can sign up for goshippo.com through ebay.    When you use Shippo, you are using your own small business account so you will get credit for each label used.  Plus you can sync Shippo and ebay so that all of the information goes back and forth, you won't have to add the buyer info onto the label.  Also, the tracking info will be ported to your ebay sales history.

You can also use Paypal with your small business account. I think that you can buy ups labels there too through another provider.  When you use PP labels you have to copy and paste all of the buyer info onto the label page.  If you want to try using PP labels,  go to:
paypal.com/shipnow

In the future it is probably best to ask Canadian shipping related information on the .ca selling board.  There are only a few posters who read the US boards who are familiar with how Canada Post works.  Although the two sites are very similar, our postage system is very different than what the US sellers use.

True but EBay refuses me letter mail registered or tracked packet and my options appear to be expedited and up. I would be happy to buy from EBay if they gave all of the service options. If I go to Canada Post direct, all options are available.

You can use registered mail within Canada and a delivery scan will be accepted by eBay. In most cases, registered mail outside of Canada is not scanned as delivered so that is why it isn't accepted by eBay. You can not purchase registered mail online on any site.   You can use regular lettermail within Canada too without having to register it but the package has to be allowable by CP and 2cm or less in thickness.  It does not have tracking but many sellers use it for lower cost items.  You would need to use stamps for that.

What do you mean that ebay 'refuses' you Tracked Packet?  You can print a label for it on ebay as long as Canada Post offers it in that country.  Labels, especially Tracked Packet US are less expensive on ebay than at the post office.  There is also small packet that can be printed on ebay. In some cases it can be tracked but you can ask about that on the .ca boards. The price for small packet and tracked packet are fairly close.

It sounds like I misunderstood your original post.  If you have specific questions about certain Canada Post services or printing labels I can try and answer them.  Shipping is probably one of the most confusing things to figure out.
