How to proceed

I have another quick question.

I got a package back today as having an unknown address on it. But it was returned to me damaged by USPS with just 1/2 the envelope and nothing else. No back part or contents.

Is their anything I can do or am I out of luck? Luckily not a big transaction but still everyone counts. Came in envelope from USPS saying it was damaged by them.

Re: How to proceed

Was the address unknown because the buyer provided a bad address or because the label was damaged/incomplete?

If the buyer provided a bad address (confirmed on tracking scans), you're not required to refund, but I'd file the insurance claim and if USPS reimburses you then refund the buyer less shipping.

If the delivery problem was because of a damaged label then you should refund the buyer in full and seek compensation through the USPS insurance claim.

Re: How to proceed

The people at said address sent back writing this person is not known here on the envelope. And USPS sticker saying not known.

But USPS damaged it coming back to me.

Will take this advice and keep in mind if buyer tries to make a claim.
