How to have a Buyer repaid for an item Refunded

I recently sold an item and shipped it out right away, however, there was a delay due to the bad weather recently and the tracking seemed to stall out.   Buyer wanted a refund and said they would return item if it ever shows up.  Fine I returned payment, no problem.   The item finally just arrived and buyer wants to keepthe item and wants me to reverse the refund and send and invoice.   I've never had this issue before.  How do I get repaid I have a great buyer that wants to pay.   Do I relist the item and send an invoice.   I don't know.  Any help is appreciated.   thank you

Ask the buyer for their Pay Pal email address and send them an invoice through there.

Have a great day.

No paying through eBay makes no difference.  There is no "system" in eBay to reverse a refund, nor to get repaid when an INR case item is eventually delivered.

Here are a few thoughts:

1.  Buyer can use snail mail to send you payment.  cash, check or money order.  Cash is not safe, they may not wish to send a personal check to an individual due to ID theft considerations.  MO is available at the USPS or any number of banks, stores, etc.  Here is the USPS process:

You might offer the buyer a 'discount' of $1.30 to offset the cost of a MO at the USPS (up to $500).

2.  IF buyer has a PayPal account you could get that from them and then send them an invoice.

3.  If the value of the item is HIGH - when you are forced or volunteer to refund a buyer on an INR case, a seller could consider using the Package Intercept service to try to get  the package back.  The point is that once an INR case is refunded there is no way to force a buyer to pay when the item is eventually delivered.  So that leaves one at the mercy of the buyer's conscience and since conscience seems to be in short supply these days, one may wish to protect them self.
