FedEx Delivery Exception (potential scam?)

I have a pretty expensive item that has been “attempted” to be delivered three days in a row from a seller on eBay. I’m beginning to think I’m being scammed.

I have a Ring doorbell which notifies me any time someone goes to my doorstep. The first two days there were no FedEx drivers. So I sat by the window all morning today to make sure something wasn’t just wrong with my Ring. I saw a FedEx truck drive by and got excited. It never stopped at my door though. 10 minutes later I get a notification saying the delivery was attempted but failed.

Is it possible the shipper modified the shipping label to go to an undeliverable address so he could get essentially a free loan from me? I called FedEx and they said my address is correct. They also said the shipper restricted it so I couldn’t pick up the package, which is a red flag to me.

Another thing I'm considering is the seller could somehow be taking advantage of the buyer's protection policy.  Is it possible I might not get a refund if it looks like I failed to sign for the package?

My daughter ordered some really expensive dolls and this happened to her as well. We also have ring cameras and doorbell... so on the 4th "attempt" to deliver, I was actually sitting by the window when the driver stopped at the end of the drive, and just sat there.

I sent my daughter outside to see if he needed help, and it was her dolls he was attempting delivery on, but was writing it up as a failed delivery. He didn't even try, just got near the house to show he was here, and was too lazy to get out of the truck and knock.

contact fed ex and ask them were they are trying to deliver this item.

One scam it to send it to some one else in your zip code.

With out proof buy you: that it was not delivered to your address, you lose a case due to it shows delivered..

Fedex drivers are notorious for not delivering. You need to contact them with the tracking number and keep after them until you get your package. There is a Facebook group called Fedex sucks that has a lot of useful info and contact information to help.

They said it was the correct address when I told them my address.  Do you think the seller modified the tracking label with paint/photoshop to a different address in my zip code?  Whenever I contact them they don't really help.

I have had a similar thing happen with the Community Mail Boxes.  I had been waiting in my yard watching the Mail being put into the Mail Boxes and expecting driver to stop at my home and give me the package.  Disappointed because the package did not arrive I go check the mail and there is the Failed Attempted Delivery Notice in the Mail Box.

I get in my vehicle and go catch up to the driver and retrieve my package.

Delivery exception is good. Contact fed-ex and ask where they were trying to deliver it.

What you need to be concerned with is Fed-Ex leaving it on the wrong porch and marking it delivered.

@kyla_9167

What I can't figure out is why anyone would SPECULATE as to what "might" have happened?  I dunno, I have enough stress in my life dealing with what HAS Happened that I don't need to get my knickers in a twist over the "maybes"!

The point is that so far FedEX is attempting delivery.  You need to be up the station manger's backside as to why the driver isn't delivering to you.  Channel some "east coast charm" and be like a dog with a bone and don't give up until FE satisfies you.

Only when the tracking shows 'delivered' and you are certain you don't have it, no one in your household doesn't have it, a neighbor doesn't have it and there has been no porch piracy, only then can one deal with that.  Yes, there is a process for that, but cross that bridge IF that happens.
