Why do I have to go to a 3rd party to get a cheaper shipping rate for a buyer? Why doesn't ebay just offer the cheaper rates and services for its sellers?
Thanks for any advice folks. I recently started listing a few items again, and it is all so confusing it's crazy! Ebay needs to hit the "go back to default" button from 10 years ago!

In most cases, third party sites shouldn't be cheaper. Are you referring to parcel select? There isn't anyone here who can definitively answer why ebay no longer provides their service on their labels.

Ebay is the same or cheaper. Have you researched the prices on other sites?
And no, you cannot integrate another shipping service with eBay's
You will have to go onto that website separately

I use eBay's labels for cheaper shipping rates, but I ship via USPS... First Class or Priority only.
Many sellers use 3rd Party providers... hopefully one will chime in to tell you the benefits that appealed to them.

ebay is NOT the same or cheaper. I had a prospective buyer that wanted to use Shippo to print their own label for $13 and send it to me. The shipping on ebay was $18

I have found eBay to be either the cheapest rates or the same rates as anyone else for the USPS services they offer. However eBay does not offer all USPS shipping options.
Ebay does not offer the Cubic Shipping Rates.
Cubic Shipping Rates are for anything 1/2 a Cubic Foot or less. You can send up to 20 pounds by Priority Mail. A Cubic is rated as either a .1, .2, .3, .4 or a .5. Item can be Boxed or in Shipping Envelope. Some of the Free USPS Shipping Supplies meet these requirements. Price is based on the Cubic Size and Distance. Many of my items are within the Cubic Shipping size but unless the item is over two or three pounds then I use regular Priority Mail.
An example,
A package measuring 12 inch by 12 inch by 6 inch, a Cubic of .5, weighing 20 pounds, going from 88310 to 10001 using regular Priority Mail with eBay's discounted price will cost $70.83
Using the same exact package with Cubic Price the cost will be $20.58
Using the same exact package but shipping from 88310 to 88310 and the price is $9.08
I would not say that anyone is cheaper than eBay, I would say it is that eBay does not offer all services available with USPS.
.5 Cubic going from 88310 to 10001
.5 Cubic from 88310 to 88310

Yep. If it's less than 20lbs and I can stuff it into ½ cubic foot or less, it's going with a Pirate Ship Priority Mail Cubic label. Less than a pound, First Class from eBay is fine.

eBay is not cheaper, I’ve just recently switched to shippo after shipping around 3000 items this past year and so far there can be anywhere between 2-6$ difference per item. The first item i tired ended up being 6$ difference which is why i made the switch. Integration seems to be solid, it syncs with your eBay store and can tell you what’s shipped and what hasn’t.
