Use different size Flat Rate Box?

When I listed an item, I put the shipping as USPS Large Flat Rate box, so that is what the buyer paid.

... but my cat destroyed the box I had planned to use and my local PO doesn't have any more of that size.

Is it alright to use a Medium? The item fits, just snuggly. Won't be damaged in any manner by the smaller box.

If you haven't actually purchased the label yet than you can flip boxes, as long as it still fits. You will still be shipping expedited so the buyer will be fine time wise. Just don't pay for a flat label which you didn't actually use, make sure you pay for the correct label that you use. Best of luck to you....

You might want to see whether a larger, better-fitting box could be used for a weight-based regular Priority Mail shipment without costing more than the Flat Rate Medium box, but aside from that, you did specify Flat Rate Large as the Shipping method, so be sure to refund your buyer for the difference between what he paid for and what he will receive.

Then why did you list the larger more expensive box in the first place?

you can use any box that suits your needs for priority mail

the important thing to remember is not to down grade the shipping

if you advertised priority then you would not want to ship 1st class or parcel post

buyers do get offended when you do not give them the level of service you mentioned

plain brown boxes also work good for priority mail
