HUGE UPS SHIPPING CHARGE ERROR - OVER $ 1,000

I was just charged over $ 1,000 by UPS for a print that should have cost about $ 10. I mailed an identical sized print, and it was calculated correctly at about $ 10. Ebay filed a shipping dispute twice with UPS, and both times UPS claimed that they were correct. They claimed that the print measured 58" by 49" by 5", which was totally incorrect. The facility where I take my UPS packages wouldn't even accept such a large item. The print was packed inside 2 pieces of cardboard, then inside a larger manila envelope. Ebay took this $ 1,000 + charge directly out of my checking account. Since Ebay is the "shipper of record", I have been unable to get anywhere with UPS over the phone. Does anyone have any advice as to how best fight this gross mistake by UPS, and Ebay's failed attempt to make this right. I can't even pay my mortgage this month as a result. PLEASE, HELP !!

I use pirateship.  Same discount and they do UPS now in addition to USPS.

I use PirateShip and they resell USPS, UPS and Fedex. You will see the cost of the label before you buy it and you get the same discounts as Ebay gives. It also integrates into Ebay so the shipping info is automatically transferred to PirateShip and then the tracking info is transferred back to Ebay.

To get the same discounts from the UPS website, go to your PayPal account and link your UPS account to PayPal in the shipping section.  Give it a day and your UPS rate table will reflect the discounts when you ship from the UPS website.

I am taking UPS to small claims court on April 24, 2022.  I dropped off my package and it weighed 20 pounds 

when it got to Wisconsin They told EBay it was 240 pounds and charged $1,060!!  I took my store down and stopped selling it took 6 months to resolve it

you need the ebay leadership team, I emailed every executive that had an email I could find happened to me last month took better part of thirty days called everyday three four times a day. you want to call in the 11-6 pst to get an English speaker.. sorry friend it's a mess but they eventually fixed it gotta stay with it

did you ever get this resolved?  ups has overcharged me repeatedly and calls to ebay and ups are worthless, each company says i have to call the other.

This is a very old discussion, but there are new posts by @zrm99 and @lasantino.

Can you guys provide package dimensions and weight for the shipments in question? We can help you figure out if this is an issue of dimensional weight or if there's some kind of error, but would need those package specs.

Nope I am taking them to small claims court.  Ups says they fixed it and gave EBay the Credit Call e bay they said they didn’t find it.   Back and forth back and forth and each one blames the other.  I am asking for &4,999 plus interest.  see my letter to the judge

6. Tab 6 Phone Call from E-Bay on speaker phone to my wife and I they indicated they never received the amount from UPS and Indicated they would re-instate our account in 30 days.

I just had the same thing happen with my bank and UPS account, the problem is that no one can get thru to the persons in charge of reversing the transaction and get runaround for days on end. Its been a week and still not resolved "measured oversize incorrect billing" and they cleaned out my bank account. At least Ebay was trying to help on your case, I'm glad it was resolved.

I can only imagine how many large organizations might be over paying all the time, as if UPS does not make enough on their increased rates already. This lack of customer service and general attitude that they can rip off their customers needs to be exposed, I'm considering filing a police or some kind of consumer report.
