I'm Uk based. I have a flat rate selected for any country in Europe. For everything else I have GSP selected. Recently I've had some buyers from certain countries asking me what shipping will cost, even though I have GSP selected. When I go to my listing, sure enough when some countries are selected, it will calculate a GSP cost. For some other countries, it doesnt display anything. So it cant be anything to do with the category.

This is eBay.com (US) boards -
You may get better answers on the UK boards but in the US we have EIS.
EIS will not ship certain items to certain countries.
Especially now with all the new restrictions that have been rolled out in the last year or so.
I would assume that GSP would also have certain items that cant ship to certain countries.

It has a lot to do with the category and also the item. There are many items that can't be shipped to other countries.
Here in the US sellers using EIS which is similar to GSP can't sell any items in the toys and games category to the UK due to implementation of CE or UKMC markings needing to be on the items. Most older toys were manufactured before these markings came into existence but it doesn't matter.
Also come December most sellers will probably quit selling to the EU when they implement the GPSR regulations. Here is a quick look at what is required to sell anything to an EU customer:
The General Product Safety Regulation applies to new, second-hand, repaired, and reconditioned items sold on eBay and all other marketplaces. There are few products and categories that are excluded from the GPSR—you can view the entire list of excluded categories on our Seller Center page.
To comply with the GPSR, all business sellers listing items for sale in the EU and NI must include the following information:
Even though we are a global society it seems the governmental overlords don't see it that way and keep throwing sand into the gears.

I didnt realise I was on the US site, my bad. But I guess it must be to do with that then. First time Ive had this issue in a few years using GSP. So perhaps I just got unlucky with the combination of category and destination......Thanks!

Many thanks for that. I think I just must have hit the jackpot in terms of a combinaton of category and destination for it to trigger this issue....Interesting about GPSR. Thankfully a very small %tage of my sales go to the EU, so hopefully I wont be badly effected.
