With hardly a chance to breath a sigh of relief, eBay is putting all sellers at risk once again by estimated delivery dates that are unrealistic!!
I sold an item with 3 day handling time and first class mail, California to Virginia. Paid 2/20, Sunday, estimated arrival 9/28-29, Monday-Tues. I have to mail by Wed 2/23. eBay thinks it will take just 3-4 postal days (Thur, Fri, Sat, maybe Monday) to get to Virginia.
My shipping statistics since July show it takes at least 5 postal days to mid-Atlantic states
The delivery date concessions eBay made just a few weeks ago made the delivery date estimates right for the first time EVER. Yet, they snatched them away just when I stop worrying about it and start to ramp up listings. (i.e. no one is looking)
Since INR policy is essentially guaranteed delivery with a much BIGGER penalty (good luck getting a late arriving item back, plan on loss of the item, not shipping cost reimbursement!), eBay HAS TO GET THE DELIVERY DATES RIGHT!

But it does seem reasonable..you mail it on the 23rd. delivery on the 28th would be 5 days and the 29th would be 6. Why do you say this is so unusual?
I am not looking for an argument or to say you are wrong but I ship 1st class a lot and 4 days is the norm from Wisconsin to just about anywhere except PR and that only takes 6-7 days.

I just shipped something to my sister in CA from DC two weeks ago. It got there in three days.

In my listings I select Economy Shipping. In the description I say it will ship First Class. Economy Shipping gives you a 2-3 day longer estimated time than 1st class .

I absolutely agree.
I just purchased an item with a projected delivery date of 09/19/20 and it arrived today, 09/23/20.
The most frustrating thing about all this is my seller lives less than 100 miles from me and yet my package left Minnesota and traveled to Akron, Ohio before it returned to Minnesota and arrived at my address!
By no means is this the sellers fault so I was sure to leave a 5 star rating in the "shipping time" category.
With the terrible service from the U.S.P.S., ebay should remove the ability for a buyer to rate "shipping time".
Shipping time is totally out of the sellers hands!
