FedEx still not fixed

It appears the "FedEx bug" from last week is NOT fixed. Just received 2 more "underpaid". Why can Ebay not get this right?? I am done with FedEx until someone at Ebay can assure us this is fixed.

Absolutely correct.  Though the problem likely resides with Fedex, we contract with Ebay and are invisible to fedex.  Ebay came forward with statement last week and then resolved...great!  But it never should have happened again.  Completely inexcusable.

Re: FedEx still not fixed

I have not used eBay in a LONG time to purchase shipping labels. This is not the first time eBay has had issues with the FedEx and UPS labels and rates. While I use FedEx and UPS very little to ship when I do I purchase the labels off Pirate Ship and upload the tracking information into the eBay order.

It's not FedEx that has the issue it is eBay but the fallout is misdirected at FedEx.

Re: FedEx still not fixed

I ship a lot of heavy items so UPS and FedEx are the only options. I am not so sure this is an Ebay issue though. FedEx is the one that is billing Ebay. If the numbers match we don't see anything. If FedEx bills more then we see the underpaid. The question is where does the "discount" we see when purchasing a label come from and where doe it get applied? I would think FedEx billing to Ebay would include that percentage discount and thus we would not see the adjustments....My bet is the issue is on FedEx.

Re: FedEx still not fixed

@pcobra93  We use Fedex as our main business carrier. The main $$ were invoiced and paid in a week or two. Then, we will see additional charges on our bills from a shipment 2 months prior.

Fedex charges $22.50 for an address correction fee. They also charge $5.55 to deliver to a residence and an additional $5.70 for DAS residential (Delivery Area Service fee for homes that are more rural). Previously, If you  called to dispute the charge because it's a restaurant like McDonalds or Burger King, the rep could google it and issue a refund. Starting last year, Fedex refused to refund stating it was a residential address when it was clearly a chain restaurant facility. When asked to google it to confirm, the rep now says that Fedex only goes by the USPS designation, not google.

We reconcile our Fedex bill every week and have saved thousands a year by disputing additional fees.

As others have said, Fedex considers ebay to be the customer, not the seller. It's like ebay being the seller's representative for chargebacks. It's very frustrating even after ebay finally allowed us to actually upload some proof that didn't have to fit on a business card.

We ship a lot of 20x20x20 inch boxes. Fedex routinely bills additional as 21x21x21. The boxes can get pushed out of shape by other boxes and they use automated scanners. The reps do refund us on most things, but we ship a lot and have used them for many years.

That's why ebay changed from billing sellers immediately for Fedex shipping labels to being able to bill for additional charges after the package was shipped. ebay still shows Fedex Ground and Fedex Home delivery as 1 line item. I have asked for years why and how they can do that as Fedex charges a fee to deliver to a residence. Now I look up the address and ship via our account and upload the tracking if it's going to a residence.

This has been going on with Fedex for decades, and long before online selling became a thing.

I used to work for an import/export firm back in the 90s and as you said above, we saved thousands of dollars by disputing all these bogus charges.

Re: FedEx still not fixed

Wasn't aware of an existing glitch until this morning when I woke up to multiple bogus charges from FedEx.

What's happening?

Re: FedEx still not fixed

Although we are hearing everyone that eBay is fixing the problem and refunds will be given out.

The problem is paying for something and then having to wait and wait to get your money returned over and over again. Sounds like one has to have money that can be put in a refund 'waiting' account until it gets returned. Big sellers can handle money sitting in the waiting refund period...but small sellers really don't have that option when the small seller might need that money now and not next month when it gets returned.
