Error Code 50023

Received this error code months ago. Dozens of calls, texts, social media posts... EBay places blame on PayPal and PayPal gave a myriad of excuses. The error code went away but now it’s returned. I have several credit cards and bank account linked to my PayPal. I have a $100 balance in my Paypal that I can ’claim’ if I wanted. I am only able to print a ‘Media Mail’ label, which would be fraudulent for the items I need to ship.

‘Your payment for shipping cannot be processed because it exceeds your available balance. Please add a credit card or bank to your account for completing this label purchase. ERRORCODE-50023’

Any solutions would be much appreciate!

I googled the error code and found a few posts say that the problem was solved when they updated the credit cards on file..the ones they had on file were expired.  Even though there was money in their PP account, they couldn’t print a label unless they had a valid credit card attached to their account. I didn’t read the whole thread do there may be more info in it.

The above poster is correct. Every time I spoke to someone with this issue it's because they had an expired credit card linked to their PayPal account.

Updating my CC info fixed this immediately.

Doesn't for me either, George.

Had this error code for about a week.  It rears it's ugly head just about every 5th label I need to print.  PLENTY OF MONEY in my PP, 2 credit cards (not expired) and 2 bank accounts in great standing.  What else could possibly be the problem?  The error message says this:  "Your payment for shipping cannot be processed because it exceeds your available balance. Please add a credit card or bank to your account for completing this label purchase. ERRORCODE-50023"

#1, it is for a $4.23 label, clearly UNDER-Exceeding my balance. 

#2, I have 4 total external accounts attached

Therefore, WHAT EXACTLY DOES THE ERROR code mean?  What EXACTLY am I doing wrong now?

No...I don't want to switch to STAMPS.com.  Doing this for 20+ years on a single platform is challenging enough!

Any more suggestions out there to the FIX??

I dunno... maybe I was overly influenced by a short stint in the Boy Scouts?    * be prepared *

Just can't imagine tying my business to one piece of technology and "one way of doing things" when the technology provided by the On Stop Shop often has severe glitches, etc.  So yeah, I signed up for PirateShip.com since it is free, integrates with eBay and has the same or cheaper shipping costs.  But hey, anyone who has been in business for 2 decades is probably stuck in their ways and not open to change or improvement!

the EFIN MORONS at Paypal and Ebay who let bots do all the work keep closing out the DOZENS of pleas for help with this problem, NEVER PROVIDING A SOLUTION FOR ANYONE except those who get it because of an expired credit card. A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVE THIS ISSUE WITH AN AVAILABLE BALANCE AND NO EXPIRED CARD ON FILE. PLEASE HELP WITH THIS AND STOP CLOSING OUT ALL THE DESPERATE PLEAS FOR HELP ON THE PP AND EBAY FORUMS!!

NO_ZERO- WHEN THEY CHARGE OVER 15% FOR COMMISSIONS AND FEES, TO GET THE SYSTEM THAT I HAVE BEEN USING FOR 20 YEARS TO WORK IS NOT TOO MUCH TO ASK, ESPECIALLY WHEN HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE ALSO HAVE THIS PROBLEM AND HAVE BEEN BEGGING FOR HELP AND A SOLUTION FOR YEARS.

I got the same error message on Paypal  because my credit card spending was over credit limit. Uploaded new credit /or debit card, and now it works. I was able to print the label.
So, the problem may be because your credit card is expired or the spending on credit card is over the credit limit.

I would like to know as well as my bank account &  credit cards are all correct.  My cards don't have anything on them & $$ at my bank. None of mine are expired & I still get this message over & over. It will sometimes do 1 but not any more.
