Did you mean:

Ebay botched return label.

Ebay created a return label with the first 2 numbers switched.  Buyer sent item back using that label and now the item is lost. What can I do?

Re: Ebay botched return label.

The barcode on the label has check digits; they cannot be flipped.

Did you receive the package to see that the 2 numbers were switched?

Re: Ebay botched return label.

On ebay's return info, the item could not be tracked and the tracking number the buyer gave me the 9 and 3 were switched. 9302020130200541205001 is the real tracking number 3902020130200541205001 is the number that ebay gave them.

That's a common misunderstanding: eBay issued the return label, so eBay already has the tracking number.

But because eBay places TWO BUTTONS on the buyer's Return details page -- Print label, and Add tracking -- many buyers will print the label, and then also try, AND FAIL, to add that tracking number (because eBay already has that number):

So your buyer kept trying, eventually mistyping the number, and eBay took it.

Now @crono764, call eBay (Google for "eBay number") and ask eBay to close the case in your favor because the correct, eBay-issued tracking number shows that your buyer has not even mailed the return.

No need to google for a number these days!  Just go to the bottom of this page and most eBay pages and click on "Help & Contact",  and select the links to identify the type of issue.  Onec can get a phone number or request a call back.
