Been going on for a lot more than a week for me. It's not really a problem as long as you pay attention. Just select the method you need.
Ebay wants buyers to get their stuff yesterday, so they're defaulting to the faster, and coincidentally more expensive lol, shipping. It is working by design, there is nothing broken to fix.

Are you saying on the purchase label page it is suggesting you use priority? Or are you saying you purchase a FCP label and when it is printed the label is for priority? Can you provide a screen shot of the purchase label page so we can see what you see.

It may be more a method of avoiding the delays that are going on with USPS.
First class can be slow, REAL slow.
So far priority has been moving.

just go to Pirate Ship & choose the method YOU want to print the label! 🙂

Possibly. I think a lot of it is regional. I haven't really had any problems with FCM, other than maybe taking a day or two longer - 3-6 days instead of 2-4. Same with Media Mail. Sent a book to AK using Media Mail, it only took 12 days, the estimate was 14. Rarely do I have anything ship Priority, so I can't speak personally on that.

I believe First Class mail is for packages or large envelopes up to 13 ounces. If what you're shipping is heavier than 13 oz., category is automatically switched to Priority Mail.

Same here. Extremely annoying.

Been happening to me for the last week, except it selects FEDEX, I've never used them, then the next ones try to select priority for 1st class, talking to the "chat line", told me it takes some time to fix, REALLY 2 weeks ugh

I consistently ship packages 15 oz via first class. eBay has special pricing with USPS it would seem that it is business class so we can ship up to 1 lb via first class package labels. I had the same issue months ago that the OP is experiencing, but I don't recall when it changed back to the appropriate shipping being populated again.

Yep, I just noticed the same thing this morning. I ship very small items that weigh 1-2 oz, and I charge a flat $3 per item for First Class shipping in the US, which is always the standard default when I go to print.
This morning I went to print and noticed that Priority was selected as the default. I switched it and proceeded with no problem. BUT, I just now noticed in my Paypal account that an item I sold yesterday cost me nearly $8 in shipping. So, basically: I shipped Priority without realizing it... and, by doing so, completely eliminated my profit on that item.
Bottom line: start paying attention before you print a shipping label.
