Don't want QR code to print on my printed ship label

Anyone know how I can get my shipping labels to print without that little QR code on there?
It's on mine in 2 places - next to the recipient's address and again underneath the bar code
Wastes ink, don't need it.

As of right now there's no way to remove it from eBay labels. Your option is to deal with it or to buy your labels from another shipping provider.

There have been several posts questioning the new QR codes that are appearing on eBay labels. Interestingly they are NOT being printed on USPS labels purchased and printed  on Pirateship. Experience has shown that PS is usually right on the ball with shipping changes. So one has to wonder is this a USPS requirement, or an eBay "thing"

An earlier poster said they scanned the code with their phone and got a completely extraneous web site. So a new Ad source for eBay?

Proof positive that people abhor change. The UPS label has had the QR code from like forever. Yet no complaints there. Exactly what problem does the presence of the QR code cause for you?

You mentioned waste of ink. The codes are so small that the ink would seem to infinitesimal. Yet no complain about, for example, the height of the bar code. Why, if they cut the height in half imagine how much ink you would save.

If it is much ado about nothing, why was this "nothing" added to the label? Less clutter on the label, the better. Also, if the recipient scans the code and it lands him/her at some weird site (someone posted that the link is not  related to the delivery) they don't like at all...it will for sure cast negative light on the seller.

If you are talking about the rectangular one (usually they are square) when you print a label on ebay for USPS (I don't know about the other carriers)- that is for the post office, postal workers and/or final postal carrier as many use their 'phone' to 'scan' a 'pick up' or 'delivery' as USPS moves away from the 'old way'. 

So, I don't believe it is for you or removable.

I suppose you could save it as a .JPG  and use a photo editor to remove it and them print it.  However, what would happen in the mail is a question I can't answer.

The traditional bar code only reads the tracking number. The QR code (QR stands for Quick Response) can bring up massive amounts of information. Can't be sure exactly what the P O is using them for but they can be read by a computer to, for example, display a complete tracking history, along with the ship from and ship to information, the routing path, and the weight and size of the package, and who knows what else. All that information feeds instantly into a computer enabling automatic sorting. Which, presumably, would get the package delivered sooner.

Additionally if the bar code gets damaged the post office can still bring up and track the package from the info in the QR code.

Who knows, it might even include some personalized information for the benefit of the carrier and addressee. "Place package by side door" - "The dog's name is Fred - don't worry he's friendly " - ??????

And as mentioned it has been on UPS labels like forever. I can't help but wonder WHY does it bother you? As another poster said they tried to scan it and got nothing. So if it is internal to the post office only  the recipient can not scan it.

They are an update to how USPS scans and routes the package, makes the process much quicker I'm sure.

Holy smokes, if you can't afford the tiny bit of ink they contain, your margins are way too tight.....adjust your prices accordingly !

An extra penny per item should cover it.......

I asked my postal clerk what exactly those little thingies were since at the time I couldn't really find anything from eBay.

He explained that should the bar code become damaged, the little QR boxes could be used for scanning.

Since he does take the time to learn about changes within the postal system, I consider him a valid source.

since I inadvertently turned on the QR printing code, I've been unable to print the Online Label Record that has always printed along with the shipping label. I used that for my record keeping. Only for that reason would I like to know how to turn off QR printing. Thank you!

Personally, all the info that can be added to a label is beneficial. I would be more than irritated if a package couldn't be delivered because the UPC code was damaged and it turned out  the  item could've  still been delivered had the QR code been used as a backup - but was ommitted to save .0000002 cents of ink.

@eclecticempire54  On the create label page look to the right and click on Show More.  Scroll down to the label format and click Change.  Select the half sheet label and enable the receipt half.

Is is not only if the bar code gets damaged, but even if the QR code is damage it has built in protection so it often can still be read.
