I sent the package to eBay International Shipping hub. Ebay said the order cannot be filled and canceled the shipment. The tracking shows it's still at eBay International Shipping hub. I contacted Ebay to have the package returned to me. The package contained vintage electronics that are not replaceable. They were unwilling to help and told me I got to keep the payment. I don't want a refund I want my package back. I will pay for return shipping. Please help!
Thanks

Been through this several times myself. You will not get the item back no matter how hard you try, however if you keep watching it will show back up for sale on Ebay with your exact listing. They wholesale off these items to a reseller that relist them. I have actually bought items back for less than I sold them for and then resold for a profit again.

This policy needs to change! I should have been given the option to keep the sale or have the package returned.

Next time you sell something like that international, find out if it's allowed in that particular country. Then cancel with problem with the address. Ebay probably won't change the policy because it will cost them more money and manpower to return these types of items. So they probably eventually sell them to someone to resell. It would not surprise me that they do that.

"...This policy needs to change! I should have been given the option to keep the sale or have the package returned..."
Just curious....you sold the item for an amount you must have been happy with....
you will retain those funds if the shipping is denied.....
my experiences indicate that you must have really wanted to sell this item to take an international sale (with the associated risks), otherwise you would not have considered the sale....no?
I guess my question is why would you want the item back and give up the funds in hand?

You got a payment for it. Why should you get item back? To sell it domestically to make more money for it?

You got paid. Once you ship it, forgetaboutit. It could not be shipped to the foreign country. Both the seller and buyer were refunded. The item belongs to ebay. Most likely they will sell on ebay. It would cost ebay more money to send the items back to the sellers. Move on. You got paid and you have one less item in your home. A win-win in my book.
Keep an eye out for that item to appear on ebay in a few weeks. It would not surprise. Ebay needs to recoup some of the money that they lost in this transaction alone. Multiply this by thousands of items that can't be reshipped.

Although I understand the reason that ebay does not send these items back to the seller it does disappoint a lot of buyers when they are unable to receive the item that they were promised, regardless if they have been refunded. In the short time that EIS has been running, I've seen lots of items being sold through the program and then rejected at the hub. There needs to be better control at the listing level so that this doesn't happen as often.

The buyer gets a full refund, you get paid in full and they dispose of the item. They don't give it back. They consider it an evil, nasty item with cooties. Vacuum tubes can trigger that. They see the getter spot and think mercury.

Just how would you do that?
You are stating that "The same thing just happened to me." If an item cannot be exported, then an item cannot be exported.
Was your situation/reason different?
