Was at the post office today and...

The very nice postal worker was helping a very sweet elderly lady with her package.

She asked if they had 'fragile' stickers for her so they could possibly show some extra caution.

The postal worker informed her, 'Ma'am, you don't have to worry we don't use those anymore because we now provide insurance on these packages. 'Up to $100 dollars in value so if you have any issues it will be taken care of by the insurance'.

I'm bored, and felt bad, but chuckled at what he said internally. "Insurance" 🙃

'Tis true. The special handling / fragile paid service was discontinued last July (link).

Wonder what she was shipping and how well it was packed. As your post indicated, "insurance" on damage claims hasn't meant much of anything for 3+ years.

GLORIOUS!

Confused about the switch to eBay discounted shipping? Read this discussion to make an informed decision about opt in / opt out.

I hope that sweet lady packed well and double boxed that fragile item because insurance won't pay if they didn't and it breaks.
