In Indiana, COVID19 has hit us really hard lately and ALL shipping services are short on staff due to this, NOT just USPS. Mind you, they also handle millions of pieces of mail per day. I think I can say that everyone needs USPS. Indiana has the highest, POST Thanksgiving infection rate, NATIONALLY. Our ICU beds are almost at capacity and the morgue is full in different counties. Look up Indiana news(Indianapolis) the main hub for USPS, and you will see. It is NOT my fault, nor is it the fault of USPS. My packages are picked up and scanned every day. The packages are not lost, they are delayed. I have filed a 'missing mail' report on every package showing still in limbo. They are slowly getting to the buyers. All of this is going on and people are opening cases, Ebay is holding our money and people are being allowed to leave negative feedback when tracking is very clear as to when it was picked up and scanned. Where is the sympathy for the sick and dying people? I have a lot of understanding customers and I appreciate them. I hope they see this. I cannot message everyone.

Message your first customer and before you hit send copy that message to the clipboard, then send it and for everyone else paste and send.

I'm also in Indy!
I'm with you on everything you stated. My buyers seem to know the issue and trying not to get excited.
My December 1st shipments seem to be the worse as far as shipping status. USPS added extra fees for the holidays and providing less quality of service.
What gets me is that all the delivery services out there knew what was coming for the holidays and none of them seemed to have prepared.
The Post Master bought his job and has no clue nor does he care!
I wish eBay would step in and post something and allow extended time on cases to be resolved.
Note to everyone! It is best to use the USPS site to check tracking rather than just on the tracking number in eBay. You get better current information.

If you tend to get impatient customers, I would add days, maybe several days, to my handling time. That way ebay will not entertain a refund request until the latest delivery date has passed.
I understand the limitations USPS has with Christmas rush and COVID personnel limitations, but USPS should adjust their delivery times accordingly, they have the data and owe it to their customers, sellers like us, to reflect truthful, factual, delivery times. USPS is still posting 2 and 3 day delivery times on most Priority Mail pre-printed labels. It's a joke, I've got Priority items that were shipped 8 days ago and still not delivered.
If USPS won't do it, as a seller, I would add several days to my handling time and note the reason in all my listings.

Indy here as well. Two things to add:
For whatever reason, my packages are taking forever just to get an origin scan. Last week it was anywhere from 12-48 hours. This week I am on day 3 with no origin scan. The postmaster says it is just a clerk error, but it is widespread. Origin scan delays are frequent and happening outside Indy as well.
Indy is not the worst spot right now. Louisville most likely is. I have seen some issues with packages sitting there a bit before processing, adding a week to Priority packages BEFORE Thanksgiving. Now there are photos floating around and inside claims they are "a month behind". Other distribution hubs are also behind. Detroit and Chicago are in a similar position as Indy right now.
With all of the DeJoy **bleep** that happened this summer, I do not have hope the USPS will bounce back before the holidays. They will likely be working this backload off until spring.

This mess appears to be nationwide at this time.
I am getting buyer complaints about late delivery and had to start refunding. eBay needs to DO SOMETHING to protect sellers.
Mail is being diverted away from the Detroit area sorting facilities -- again. I am seeing packages sitting for days in Indiana, Alabama, Mississippi and Illinois.
Just shipped a 3oz bubble mailer to a city 15 minutes from me and the shipping label printed as 2 - 3 days for delivery. That's nuts!!
Got to wonder how much money and merchandise sellers will lose this holiday season due to late deliveries.

I have given up looking at the tracking info on my purchases. It hasn't changed since last week 😞

Same here! Dropped off a couple loads at the post office November 30th and December 3rd, which were scanned in by the clerk and accepted but nothing beyond that. I also dropped off a batch on the 4th and most of those got delivered. It’s insane right now

Same here in Arizona. Shipped two packages locally here in Phoenix November 30th and still zero movement after acceptance.

I'm in Indiana as well. Definitely seeing a spike in "Item not arrived" cases and multiple shipments just sitting in Indy for over a week. It's a tough situation out there.
An employee from Kansas City postal center called about a case filed and said it's the worst they have seen. They have mail just waiting to be sorted. They also said only express mail is getting transported by plane right now. That means all priority and first class is going by truck or train. Everything is gonna take forever...
Definitely taking the advice of others to move my handling time from 1 to 2 or 3 days to give myself a little cushion. I still plan on getting everything out the day of/after still. Good luck everyone!

Seems a majority of us sellers are experiencing this and it’s seriously frustrating. Spoke with an eBay rep yesterday and they said if any negative is left regarding late shipment that they would remove it. So far all of my customers have been understanding regarding the current situations but a few may not be.
