Accidentally ordered 2 of the same items

Hi

In August we ordered a car radiator but accidentally put 2 in our basket.

As soon as we realised we emailed the the seller and when we didn’t get w reply we called the online store.

Having explained the issue the guy on the phone said it wasn’t an issue, he would only post 1 and refund the other on PayPal.

Well it turns out he didn’t refund and we are out of pocket by £150.

What do we need to do to get the refund?

Thanks

Re: Accidentally ordered 2 of the same items

You will have to do a Paypal claim, but what type of claim depends on how you ordered it. Was it a multi quantity listing where you had to enter the number of items on the screen, or did you put one in your cart and go back and put another one it? Check the order in your eBay history and see if it's two seperate items or just one with the quantity of 2. If the latter, it might be a bit dodgy.

EBay will do nothing at this point, the purchase was more than 30 days ago

Re: Accidentally ordered 2 of the same items

Hi
It wasn’t a multi quantity listing.
We messed up by adding 2 to the basket.
The company are saying they have sent 2 despite them confirming over the phone that they would remove one.
Will PayPal help at all?

The seller is saying they posted 2 which did not happen and they are saying there is nothing they can do.

Hmmmm.   This is kind of a tricky one.  My first thought is for you to open a dispute on Paypal for the transaction but it have to be for the entire transaction and Paypal would probably require that you send the firist item back at your own expense.

Thinking maybe a credit card chargeback might be the way to go if that is still possible.
