Why is this "out of scope"?

sheila@ebay wrote:

Out of scope requests: Removing the preview under the post title and giving the ability to hover over the post to see the first few sentences in order to see if the post is worth clicking into.

This is one of the biggest issues most posters wrote about after the redesign. Instead of telling us it's "out of scope"- it would be appreciated if you could at least give a reason why.

I remember suggesting that if the layout was changed to be in sync with the ebayinc redesign, that eBay/Khoros add a profile setting so regulars could choose a more compact view. Then the public design will still match what eBay wants visually, but those who volunteer their time here to help others could get a layout that's way more functional.

@coffeebean832 it boils down to the amount of time/work required and overall cost to implement the change. Unfortunately, this particular request isn't without ours and Khoros scope based on those factors. I understand the desire some have for a more compact view, so if any new Khoros features are rolled out in the future that will accomplish this then we'll be sure to see how it can be incorporated into our community.

Why is this "out of scope"?

brian@ebay- Thanks for the explanation. In that case, I'd like to make different suggestions-

1- Can eBay/Khoros eliminate photos from the post previews? That would be a smaller task and definitely help the situation.

2- Can eBay/Khoros lessen the character count of the post preview to make them shorter and use up less vertical real estate?

Because I don't feel like starting another post, I'll add to this one.

Can we get hyperlinks to FB page and listings added back to the hover cards?

I'm thinking that it's because they are trying to make this work on the app too. Hovering doesn't work on a touch screen.

I'm not sure what you mean rebell. The hover card is working just fine- but the links to FB page and listings have been stripped. They were part of the old version of the hover card and made things easier. The FB page link within a hovercard was a fast way to see an OP's registered country before even opening a discussion thread.
