Thank you for helping us catch those bugs! While we did work hard to make sure we caught any issues before we released the new changes to the Community, there might be some issues that we didn’t catch. If you find any issues, please post them only here. The Community team will be actively monitoring this post and we’ll work as fast as we can to get them resolved. No need to @ mention us, if you post here.

Be sure to include links to the pages, screenshots, which browser you’re using and other relevant information you can share.

Update as of 03/05: Thanks for your feedback! I'll be tracking updates here.

Seeing issues with the new Community platform?

This is not user friendly, it is so hard to navigate. I can't even find anything, not even my posts on profile. I won't be coming here anymore, but maybe that was the intent.

eBay should be concentrating their efforts on the things that are broke...you could start with the shipping label page, what a confused mess. I still have multiple duplicate windows opening that makes it real easy to print 2 labels.

It is getting harder and harder to search the site. too much tinkering, keep it simple....this is not simple!

Two thumbs down, way down.

let's get back to basics, simple is better!

Seeing issues with the new Community platform?

I’m seeing other people quoting so why am I not able to? Is it because I’m on my IPhone?

This is extremely aggravating.

Can this be fixed?

Yes, it is a phone limitation. We are told there was just not enough room to add it. The team said they will try to get it added to phones.

Very poorly designed in every way.   I won't be on here much any more.

Seeing issues with the new Community platform?

@community_team   First off, the pull down and side shift menu selection is cumbersome AND the fact that the background color is the same (white) as the main pages it is confusing and this type of select often causes one's cursor to MISS the intended target ... just make it ONE pull down list.

Next, you really need two formats, one for the app and one for computers.  Most of us who support The Community are working on lap tops or computers and as pointed out in the meeting, we need to see more threads per page and minimize the scrolling up and down.   I "get" the need for the "Brand" appearance at the top of the page but once past that (I basically ignore it anyway and scroll to what I came here for) there needs to be lots of threads shown.  I saw ONLY 2 on one board and i think adding the pic that is on the OP's thread simply wastes space.    I see 4 threads on the M2M board where previously there were 6 and even THAT could have been improved ... I remember having this exact same conversation when the old "Discussion Boards" were converted to "The Community".

Screenshot (2489).png

If you get RID of the preview pane under each thread topic then you can get MORE threads per page on one screen.  If a thread title is of interest we'll open it believe me.  Besides, the little previews are NOT the entire thread anyway (in most cases) so its just wasted space.

I also asked you to display the OP's country where their account is registered ... this would save US the step of clicking on their ID to find out then going back to the thread ... this request was made a while ago.

In closing this reply, and there may be more, I just want to ask this question and it's relevant ... will eBay take our suggestions and actually implement them or treat them like they did with Seller Hub and the The Community roll out where many very good suggestions were tendered but simply ignored?  You see, eBay does NOT live in this space, they do not live in the Seller Hub space, they only oversee it and support it from outside.  This is OUR SPACE to live in and we should really be the ones making certain decisions on the appearance and functionality of it ...

@shipscript

Thank you for the answer! Appreciate your clearing that up for me!

I hope they do get it added as it makes a long busy thread hard to follow sometimes when people don’t quote.

Thanks again! 🙂

Seeing issues with the new Community platform?

Next, in order to help NEW members visiting The Community you need to add a "My Topics" link so new members can actually FIND their threads after they create them.  The basic layout of the last AND this current Community is confusing at best and to newcomers we have seen them post then never hear from them again.

The "My Topics" (or whatever YOU want to call it but make sure the word "My" is in it) example is shown in the pic below on the home page.

@community_team

Why are our signature lines bolded to make them stand out more prominently than the content we are posting? I had both reduced the size and muted the color of my siggy to make it clear it is not part of the post, and now the new format brings it to the forefront and I can not unbold it.  I lightened the color even more, but am not happy, as stroke weight is key here. Can we return the screaming siggy to its proper background relationship?

This is the signature code I am currently using:

<font face="arial" size="-1" color="#667788">Siggy here</font><hr>

I hate to keep harping on this and I did get an answer from a very helpful fellow poster but wanted your official answer.

Will those of us using our IPHONES ever be able to quote again?

Is that something that is being worked on?

How about adding a Night or Dark Appearance Theme mode like many sites have.

If you are using a common desktop browser, there are third party add-ons that allow you to invert page colors at the touch of a button. Dark Reader is one. I have not used Dark Reader extensively, though I did try it out a while back. It should work with many browsers. There are other options as well: one called Dark Mode, and another called Night Eye, but I have not actually tried those.

@medontmind  @eburtonlab

eBay won the Modern Retail Best Ecommerce Experience award for Dark Mode in the eBay app....maybe the app team can help Khoros out with this one? 😉

Seeing issues with the new Community platform?

@community_team   Where are the new threads on each of the boards?  I looked at several boards on the Discussion tab - Buying and Selling tab - Selling  board and Shipping and Handling board.  They open showing My threads ... WHERE are new threads found on those boards?????????

Problems, for me:

You have removed the link to My eBay, ads though you want to cut the Community off entirely from the rest of eBay.  Now I have to keep that open in another tab or another browser.

You have removed the link to Advanced Search, and in answering questions the Search function is used constantly.

You have removed the name of the last poster to a thread, so are we now to click through every thread to see if a "conversation" we're having is ongoing?  And unless we memorize numbers, we're not sure a thread has any  new replies.

As for the general look, it surprises me.  You said that the new design was supposed to be nicer for the users of mobile devices.  Since I don't use any small-screen devices, maybe it is -- but I'd be surprised.  I say that because I'm a desktop user with a 21" monitor, and I'm having trouble dealing with and endlessly scrolling through all the clutter, oversized banners, and general busy-ness of the design.

I had set mine when this came out. Now I went to check to see where to change it, and it's gone. I had clicked on the icon to the right of Community Help, and My settings. That's where I had all of the same options as before.

Today most of them are gone. But my options are still working.

Seeing issues with the new Community platform?

One more comment:

When ideas were solicited for changes to the  boards, the thing most often mentioned was the plethora of boards --many overlapping and many dead -- and the problem of finding them at all, either by logic or intuition.    Many suggestions were made for greatly reducing the number of boards, by eliminating some and combining others, and for then organizing them for easy access.

There were many other practical suggestions, but I cannot see that a single one of them was implemented. But we got mostly only cosmetic changes, while the few real changes are for the worse, per the examples already posted here.

Very user UNfriendly.  Replies AREN'T posted - get error messages (obviously censorship by eBay).  More difficult to navigate or even find the main page.   Why is eBay becoming a dictatorship - as in not getting OUR feedback about proposed changes????  Geez.....
