Why do I get a message about Post flooding when loading anything into a post. This started a week or so ago, I'm doing nothing different but can't post a video.

The message also says that a message was posted more than 1 times in 3,600 seconds. So you need to wait an hour before hitting reply the second time for it to work I guess.

There seems to have been a recent change with the boards; the threshold for "flooding" seems to have been lowered to the point where if you try to post the same message twice it triggers the "flooding" message. Which is a problem, if, for instance, you try to copy and paste a message and you receive an error message when trying to post that your message contains html characters. Previously the characters would be stripped and it would allow you to post again, but now the second attempt at posting will trigger the "flooding" error.
You may be able to copy your message -- possibly pasting it first into a text editor or text entry field to strip out the html characters -- then open the original message post you are responding to in another window, and try posting again after discarding the previous message, if prompted. If you still get an error, try posting a simple one word placeholder text message, and then immediately edit your new post and then paste in the original message.

It happens when you haven't actually posted yet, but you're hitting "reply" again because you got that red HTML error message. So it's a two-layered glitch, based on a longstanding one that never got fixed.

Here's another issue with a slightly different twist (getting a "post flood" error when trying to attach/load a video into a post) for the team to investigate.

I got that message for the first time today on a new message I just typed out.

Hi @pburn - thanks for this tag!
brian@ebay has been working on this issue with Khoros, and we're awaiting a resolution. I agree with folks here that it seems like a threshold was altered recently or something. However, I'm hopeful we'll see this addressed quickly. If it is a setting then it should be simple to readjust I would think (there's my ignorance talking, right?)

Thanks for responding, Tyler!
Not to put too fine a point on it, but this Community Platform revamp has really been pretty amateurish, all things considered. It's sometimes a challenge to learn how to navigate these kinds of changes, but when there are so many issues, it's even more frustrating.
There are several threads describing features that don't work, I'm almost ashamed for you guys. It doesn't help that the new community manager won't even answer a tag about it, if I'm honest.

It's not a threshold; it's an all-or-nothing. For me, it happens when I'm dealing with one of the pre-existing glitches: The one where you quote a previous post, edit it, and then when trying to post you're told that invalid HTML has been removed from your post. Until recently, that message could be ignored; you'd just hit Post again, and it would go through. Now, we're getting the "post flooding" message instead of the message going through. Trying to fixed this should actually entail removing the original erroneous html error message.

Today when I try to edit a quote, I don't get the post flooding message but it also doesn't actually post. I just get the original error message agin and again. It's as if the problem with the "Post flooding" message was "fixed" by removing the text but not the do-loop.

They've said these things don't go wrong in the testing environment. I would be asking Khoros- what makes the testing environment so different from the live environment? The testing and live platforms should be on equal playing fields for a testing environment to function as it should- and the testers should be using both PC/Mac and iOS/Android with multiple browsers on each to conduct a comprehensive test.

Have to say, I'm a bit discouraged by no acknowledgement of most of the problems. If memory serves, the last time we had these problems after an update, a message was pinned to the top of the board........so if we ran into something "new" we could post it......if it was already acknowledged, we could move on..with the knowledge that it was being worked on. Without something like that we are in limbo.........is it something that will be fixed? does anyone at Ebay realize the problem, should we continue to post about the same things over and over? Not a good situation, in my opinion.............

@pburn the bugs have definitely been frustrating. We've let Khoros know about the 'post flooding' error, along with other issues occurring and they are investigating the causes. The 'post flooding' error has been tricky because non of the Community team can replicate it, and so far Khoros hasn't been able to replicate it either. It seems to be impacting a smaller portion of the community which tends to make diagnosing the problem more difficult. With that said, Khoros is actively working on this. They are doing all they can to try and replicate the issue and determine what is causing it.
Other issues have been reported to us and we've alerted Khoros to them. Please tag one of the Community team if you encounter and issue and we'll get it reported to Khoros right away! Thanks everyone 🙂

Hi all - we've heard that this flooding error has been fixed. Can anyone here please let me know if you've run into it since Friday morning? I'm not able to force the error myself anymore but wanted to get your eyes on it as well.
Thanks!

Not fixed.
