I don't know if this is the right place to post this?
I think there should be a Knowledge Base article about Local Pickup since this topic comes up a lot. There are a few threads where Trinton has provided a lot of great detail about the process and I think they should be worked together into a knowledge base article.

Oh, gees. Thank you! There is so much misinformation being spread around about local pickup--and it doesn't help that no one seems to believe eBay staff's posts about policy.
I think this is a fabulous suggestion. I, for one, am not going to even open another thread about local pickup, since they just end up in even long-time members giving such bad information.

Hello:
I had listed a large, heavy mirror for sale on ebay a while ago and had chosen "Local Pickup only, no shipping" as the only option because of the bulk and weight, and because shipping it would cost far more than what the item would cost on its own merits.
Yet somebody in P.R. managed to purchase it and then asked me if I could ship it there. I replied and said sorry, I can't for the reasons listed above. I need him to cancel it.
How was he even able to do this at all? I specifically said Local pickup ONLY.
