You don't get a notification unless someone tags you. You'll get an email if someone replies and you clicked the "email mail" box to the right. I only get an actual notification if someone tags me or gives a helpful vote.

What @missjen831 said. Now she's going to be alerted to the fact that I @ mentioned her, or tagged her, and now @stoneledge, so will you. Miss Jen will also receive a notification that I found her response to be helpful.
I won't know if either of you replies to me or not, 'cuz I am NOT checking that Email me when someone replies check box down there to the left under this text box, because, personally, I am inundated by way too many eBay notifications as it is.
(Apologies to Miss Jen.)

Thanks for explaining. Gosh that is dumb.
I get bombarded with notifications for "helpful" and the stupid "badges"...neither of which is of any use.
But the system gives me no notifcation if someone replies to my post without using the buggy tagging feature. That's uselss and dumb doug@ebay
This Community is about conversations. I don't give a hoot about Helpfuls (I should be able to find them somewhere but don't need a Notifcaiton. and NO ONE ALIVE cares about levels and badges...but the system churns out those useless notifications.)
But when someone, a real, live ebay member, replies to my comment, that is a CONVERSATION CONTINUING between humans trying to help each other and i should get a Notification. 100% of the time.
And I don't want emails for every comment on a thread. I don't want Community emails as they are largely uselessl as well.
Please fix this system. The priorities are a mess.

Click on you avatar, click my settings. Under personal click to not receive email notifications. Then click on preferences, click on topics I post to.
You will then get notifications.

Do you have any idea what caused the duplicate post? We've seen that problem here on the Community before. A glitch, powered by Lithium.

That was a glitch powered by user. I clicked it twice, as I didn't think it went through. I wasn't patient enough.

Thanks. I will try that.
I also found, in that ridiclulous tangled nest of menus for settings, powered by Lithium, settings to turn off notifications for Badges, and to not send a notification every time I'm given a "helpful." Let's see if they work.

I agree that this platform can be annoyingly slow and unresponsive. Thanks for explaining.

This seems to be working to notify me of replies to my topics, so far. Thank you.
