That is the ANNOYING delay in the time from when a post is made to where it show in the summary.   I think it has gotten worse in the last few months since it started.

Sometimes on the M2M board even our own POSTS disappear for a few minutes so if I think of something I want to add I have to bookmark it and go back to the post when the board gets done with it's slow as molasses processing.

  It's really weird because other times as soon as I post I can view it.

EDIT TO ADD:  Before I started this reply I checked and the summary had registered the 11 replies.

Board Failure to show correct number of posts......

The same thing happened with a large number of missing posts from the count a couple of weeks ago on the chat.

This was Rebecca's reply on the issue-

And that isn't the only thread where she has thrown Khoros under the bus. Interestingly, she's blaming them for all kinds of glitches, but all these problems have surfaced after she arrived.

IMO, it's unseemly for a professional to publicly push the blame onto a business partner. Why is she quoting "why Khoros when their performance is imperfect?" What is she talking about? Nobody in that thread "[begged] that question?

Funny that these lag times appear to be recent . . .

She did it with the horrible decision about the titles not being displayed in each post, too. Also interesting that the mods have never had problems with editing titles correctly when they could actually see them. Very unprofessional to blame them, IMO.

My guess is Khoros is not going to be around too much longer. They're going to be blamed--both publicly and privately--for all the problems we are currently experiencing with the community.

Honestly- I think growing pains with a new third party would be worse than trying to get things back on track with Khoros. It has taken years to get some functional features on these boards back that were here before the format change. Can you imagine starting over completely while simultaneously dealing with the tech issues that would no doubt result from yet another company's layers of coding?

The eBay team lost 3 people this year- Alan, Doug and Trinton- while only gaining 1- Rebecca. I'm sure that's part of the problem here- those left are spread too thin and the one in charge is still new enough to be going through the learning curve. Switching to a new third party platform right now would bring more chaos (in my opinion).

Sure, a new provider (if indeed such an option exists) would involve some transition pain. But Khoros has deteriorated.  The boards can't do simple straightforward things that they could do a year ago.

My bet is that Doug's leaving is at least a bit of the reason that things aren't being fixed......  He was the  "tech" guy (whether that was his position or he fell into because of his own interest, I always wondered).

I think he went beyond just reporting problems to K; he researched them, documented them and probably came up with possible solutions or at least areas to look into.  Plus he had probably developed a working relationship with someone at K and could push them.....  If that liaison at K isn't there any more that compounds the problem.  Both sides could be just pushing the problems up and down the chain with no one taking responsibility or having the slightest idea of what to do.  It sure seems like that's what's happening.....

I had a "go a round" with Trinton sometime back, think it was about the Fedex problems, and his position seemed to be that Ebay couldn't force them to supply whatever necessary info for shipping that was needed to stop whatever the problems were.  That was unfathomable to me.  When I worked (granted back in the dark/golden ages), if a supplier failed to "supply" either services or goods, we called them on the carpet, extracted promises of better service and either got it or got another supplier.  It wasn't always easy from a business standpoint...many times we had to scramble/pay overtime/etc., but once a company didn't deliver what they were supposed to deliver.....they rarely got "better" without some kind of a kick in the keister.

@dhbookds

Interesting! I thought Khoros was involved strictly with services to/for the Community, and not the eBay buying/selling platform itself!

@nobody*s_perfect

Have you noticed just recently that when the mods move a thread, the message containing the link appears twice, and the link still says the same board name in it--and the link doesn't work? Then, when I go to the board I assume it's been moved to and open the thread, there are the same two "We've moved this thread" messages--and the link still has the old board name in it.

It eventually works itself out and both appears and functions like it should, but that's a new phenomenon, too. I even reported one when it first happened, suggesting that the "bread crumb" hadn't worked properly, and then was embarrassed when it finally righted itself.

Sheesh.

@pburn  I probably was unclear...... I didn't mean K was involved in the Fedex thing........just that the way Ebay treats their suppliers in general surprises me.......

K only supplies the "boards" and does the moderation of them as far as I know........

Don't feel like the Lone Ranger.  When eBay changed from Lithium to Khoros they dropped 23,000 posts and although I was a member since 2003 it dropped my membership date here to 2005.  I complained but it was never fixed.

Maybe I have the timing wrong, but to me it seems things started going down hill when Lithium and Khoros merged.

pburn, I've seen the same thing with moved threads linking back to themselves in a loop. I thought it was the mods messing up, but I guess it's yet another platform bug.

Okay--off topic, so I'll start a new thread if y'all would prefer, but @fab_finds4u's post reminds me . . .

I originally registered with eBay in 1998. I shopped my little heart out, collecting junk right and left, and had a bunch of feedback. Then I think my office actually cracked down on using eBay during company time *shakes fist at employer* and I didn't have a reliable device at home back then.

So, fast forward. I started using eBay again several years ago, and I noticed my feedback count was WAY down--I mean like maybe around 150 or less--when it should have been so much higher. I touched base with a couple of people who'd been around awhile, and there were mixed opinions about what might have happened. One said maybe there had been a "sweep" of all the feedback from  NARU'd users (which would have made sense), but another said that had never happened. So, whatever. No big deal. So what if it looked weird that I've been registered for 22 years and only had 200 feedback comments, right? LOL!

Today, I was reading my eBay message about that $25 coupon, and it said my first purchase was in 2006.

Not the same issue as fab_finds4u, but did something magical happen back around 2006 or so on the platform side that would have affected members' feedback counts? Anyone know?
