I had a buyer that wanted a refund at my expense for their screw up and not doing due diligence. when the buyer first contacted me, she claimed i miscatagorized the item. It was correct in the listing. Because I would not pay for the return, she threatened to contact ebay and leave negative feedback. when she did contact ebay she changed her allegation saying the listing was vague. I disputed this, laid out the facts to ebay, but said no to paying for the return. I HAVE A NO RETURN POLICY . This was on wednesday and I have not heard a word from ebay. I dont have these issues, so I am wondering how long this process takes.
It keeps saying I need to take action by monday and basicly I have to refund the money which ebay has frozen. Is there any guidance for this situation. I cant find a way to contact ebay for a status of their investigation into this false claim and dispute.

Hope your description was a little better then this one.
"What you see is what you get. finished product marked good detail"

Look - this is gonna happen in retail. This isn't something worth "winning" and/or teaching your buyer some kind of lesson. The important thing is keeping your account in good standing, and this time, you'll just have to give in and process the return, pay for the label and then block the buyer. No, it isn't fair, but it happens. Most people are honest, then we periodically get the not-honest people. In retail the result is called "shrinkage" and we all allow for it.

i submitted a 1200 word response to ebay, citing the correspondence, listing, a comparative listing of what she originally claimed the item was. what is bad is her threatening negative feedback. I am now wondering how many others she has done this with. I filed the rebuttal but have not heard back. I did offer a full refund but she pays return shipping and I get it back undamaged.

Yes, a refund is usually at the seller's expense.
Who else is going to refund the buyer?

Dont be surprised if Ebay quickly refunds her, and you dont get your item back, and you also get that big fat defect. Telling the buyer in a snad case that she is responsible for return shipping is not allowed. Ebay hates unhappy buyers.

with the supporting photos and dimensions if you know about molds is quite adequate. she did ask one question, which was answered. I also highly recommend to ask questions and am willing to provide additional photos if requested. that is a standard in my template. the what you see is what you get is because many dealers sell items they have multiples of. When I put that on the listing I am letting them know there is no bait and switch, that is exactly what they get. I do sell items that I piece out like might multiple plates from a dish set, and I do not put that statement on there. I have many feedback stating "exactly as described" etc. I take pride in doing the best I can, including over engineering the packing. Because many of these items are fragile, it needs to be that way. I actually had my first broken item upon arrival. Of course I refunded the money. The post office really did a number to break it, the way I packaged it. thank you for your input.

And that is a huge problem in society today. I wonder how many other times she has done this. I do understand making things right, but as far as I am concerned she is a scammer. The more ebay allow this the more it will happen. thank you for your input. this is very much like ebay charging fees on shipping. this was because many sellers were selling their items cheap (very low final value fees) and making their money on the shipping. Instead dealing with those sellers, they changed the rules that punishes the legit dealers, who dont try to beat the system
