Hey all... been MIA for almost a month on the boards mainly because I have a new kid. Still been working/selling behind the shadows from home... only to come back to a slew of business issues (MP, inventory, USPS delays, etc.) So it's bittersweet that I'm back (although not entirely back). Glad I have a bit of time to check the boards though.
Anyway, so anyone have tips to reply to this buyer (mentioned in the title)? Buyer claims INR (no INR filed yet)... classic tracking shows delivered. I use my usual "check with neighbors, local PO, etc" reply. Buyer replies with that gem shown above. Contemplating BBLing this guy but I haven't replied to him yet.

i had a situation several months ago where it showed delivered but guy told me was stolen by a "porch pirate" than a few days later had the nerve to file a "never received" complaint... from good advice from others on here I called ebay & copied delivery info into my response & they closed the case in my favor...you are only obligated for delivery not what happens after...congrats on the baby!!

nothing but a scammer!
let them open case and eBay will review tracking to show it was delivered.

You might ask your buyer to check with the post office for their GPS location of delivery?
Thanks. @dhbookds It's a girl this time around. I already have a son a hair over 2 years old.
@signsandtshi78 @nobody*s_perfect Yea, I already mentioned the GPS to the buyer from the start. He seemed to ignore that advice as well.

To the title. I would send them a simple statement that it is their responsibility to have a secure location for items delivered to there property not yours.
As for the rest of what can happen:
Item was delivered, you are protected.

You've got soft during your time away my friend. 😉
If it says "delivered" it's delivered. It's no longer your problem.
Let him file a INR if they want.
Welcome back and CONGRATS on the new addition!

The postal service would love the extra income if we all sent out our purchases requiring signature confirmation, but I recon most buyers would be pssssed

"I asked them what they meant by "confirmation of receipt"... and if they meant signature confirmation. He chose to ignore that question and replied with what I have in the title of this thread."

Hmmmm.
In that case? Maybe? consider:
Dear Buyer
Since you never requested signature confirmation, delivery confirmation IS comfirmation you actually received this item.
Above is not the best way it could be worded.. just thinking out loud here.
Or ..& (Since the listing neither offered Sig Conf, and I never received a request for it .... )
(eBay policy states DC is confirmation you actually received...) or .... ?
?

Hey, congrats, man! Hope baby and mom are both doing well.
I'm glad you're back because as soon as I saw the title of your thread I started laughing. I'd probably go with something like:
Buyer,
The tracking confirms delivery. If you can't find it then I can only repeat what I already suggested: [insert info about checking with neighbors, carrier, etc]. You can report theft of packages to your local police department and to your homeowners insurance company.
If you're having problems receiving packages I can also suggest that you look into a more secure delivery location, such as a storage bench for your porch or a PO box.

Then ignore any messages after that. You've done what you can and repeated it once. I agree with the above poster - BBL before they escalate and you regret not blocking. You can always remove the block later if they calm down.

Oh @bigdeals.etc. I was taking a delicious nap ( something you won't be able to do now!) Congrats on the sweet little baby! I have to go surfing with inhawaii and what he and the others stated here. You wear many hats as a seller, a postal carrier is not one of them! Enjoy your family!

"You are obligated to ensure I receive the item, not just dropped off on my property"
You know, with that statement they're admitting the item was dropped off on their property.

Dear Buyer,
I am sorry if the package has not arrived you may contact the shipping company, in this case the United States Postal Service to inquire about your package. Please reference the tracking number in your case, where you can check the current status, complete a help request form, submit a missing mail search request and connect with customer service representatives to help resolve your issue and get back on track.

Thank you,

Dear Buyer,
Thank you for bringing this to my attention, the local facility has been alerted and steps are being taken to correct the problem. Additionally I have filed a missing package request, contacted the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security who told me it's not their job so since they're being lazy I took it straight to the main man Donald Trump who said he would personally make sure you receive your item!
Please if I may ask for five days for this issue to resolve after which you should open an Item Not Received case so I can issue a refund.
Thank you.
