The "See full item description" button is one of the worst ideas eBay has ever implemented. I am a top rated seller and have been ever since the program was introduced. Part of what makes me a top rated seller is my big, beautiful pictures and my complete descriptions of what is included and what the condition of the item is. Now all of that is hidden and prospective buyers need to click another button to see the full description. I would be willing to bet that that button does not get clicked by over half the people that view the listing and that most of those that do not click it either do not see it or have no idea what it is for. I would also not be at all surprised if eBay sees a sharp increase in the number of item not as received cases because you are hiding the seller’s description of that item from prospective buyers. Let’s just put it in terms that management should be paying attention to: more item not as described cases means more man hours devoted to resolving these cases which in turn leads to more labor cost for eBay. Further, an increased number of item not as received cases leads to an increased number of buyers who had a bad experience on eBay and are therefore less likely to return to eBay. Less traffic leads to fewer bids which leads to lower final sales prices which leads to lower revenue for eBay from final value fees. So by hiding seller’s descriptions of the item they are selling from prospective buyers eBay is effectively raising the company's overall operating cost while lowering overall revenue.
Sellers please take a few minutes to let eBay know that you think this is a really bad idea and that it should be done away with. To by-pass all the misleading "Contact Us" links and send your message to someone who will actually read it please copy and paste the following into your browser's address window:

I feel like presenting a bidder with an extra challenge before revealing part of the item description is just setting the seller up for a SNAD claim.

Hi. This is a very, very hot issue. The full item description button was recently removed so sellers did not have to "slim" down their listings descriptions. Now it's back again. If you look for this topic there are unhappy sellers and buyers. One community seller nc-daydreamer an expert member is upset too. I am as well. It was revoked for a short period of time. If you type in topic on community board, you can add your feelings on this.
Until a couple of days ago I did not know what this bar looked like until I went to two different seller's items. These sellers sold LP's, CD's used. Both had Full Item Disclosure Button. I pressed on first seller and got the full description. It did not have a place on that page to place in order. The second seller, who sold used LP's, CD's had item button, wound up being a BLANK page.
Because of all the negative reactions, community members are voicing their frustration, so Ebay will go back to original full disclosure with no extra bells, whistle buttons to deal with.
Pictures of an item, especially used items help a buyer's decision to purchase easier so they know EXACTLY what they are buying. Sorry this is happening to you. Let's STOP this and return to original format. We don't need to fix what isn't broken!
Hope this helps you......

remeber a few months ago ebay turned new without tags condition to like new?? and then fixed the issue, hopefully they are hearing the feedback and do something about this. I think what ebay is trying to do is to get sellers to lower prices and upload higher quality photos as this will be the only way to differentiate yourself from your competition, and ebay also wants you to be upfront with the limited space that your listing has to describe any faults or problems with the item so buyers don't have to read a lot of text to get the details. in a marketplace like ebay we all want to differentiate ourselves by marketing our products to the best of our ability with custom discriptions and templates but ebay is trying to be more like amazon and walmart and give customers a more streamlined purchase experence. but having the link to open the detailed description in a separate window/tab is abosultely the wrong thing to do. As with any market place, ebay needs buyers more than sellers since buyers bring the demand and as long as there is demand, people will flock to try and meet it. I hope ebay fixes the opening the detailed decription in a separate window "bug" so buyers doesn't have to find the window that their original ebay search was on but I'm sure they will look at the data and implement whatever solution they think is appropriate reguardless of how sellers feel.

Actually, it is worse than that.
Albert Einstein is broadly credited with exclaiming “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results”. It truly doesn't make a difference that there's truly no proof that Einstein really put forth this expression; it's still an awesome quote!

I am using a Firefox branch browser, works like Firefox and uses Firefox updates mostly.
So., I did a lot of research on this subject.
Here is what I found:
I came across some interesting answers.
One was that your browsers and Iphones, tablets should all be logged out of Ebay. Well, I did have one tablet which was still logged in as a result of recent use. I logged out of Ebay, and turned the tablet off. Next, I went to my desktop and reset all of the cookies, and other non-important items (in Seamonkey there is a drop-down in tools which is "clear private data"). I then re-started the browser. What ever I did got rid of the "See full item description".
The browsers of Firefox, Seamonkey and Chrome all work right and also shows the full description of my items on Ebay, as they should.
Anyway it is all working great, and may be of help to others with this similar problem.
I think that the "See full item description" is a setting on Ebay for small Iphones, tablets, and other items like that. In fact Ebay has told me that there is a setting like that. So, my estimation seems to be that that setting can affect other browsers if there is a tablet, Iphone which is still logged in to Ebay. That means that the cookies and other settings on the desktop are affected. What do you think?
Thanks for your interest.

"See full item description"
In response to this problem.
Try this, as I did. Log out of Ebay on all or any Iphone, tablet, and so on.
Then, go to your browser on the destop or laptop, and delete all of the cookies, and anything else which is not inportant in the browsers.
Because each Ebay user has an individual login name, and can be used on any device, this may a part of , if not the main part of this problem.
In my case, these efforts have workked after some time calling Ebay, and being on this forum as well. Thanks all for your help, and hints as well.

"See full item description"
In response... indeed this can be a problem with the desktops, laptops, etc.
In my recent experience:
I logged out of my tablet from Ebay, and shut it down.
I had no other small format computers like Iphones, etc which were logged into Ebay.
Since users on Ebay can only use one login with their user name, this may be affecting the cookies and other settings in the browsers.
I use a branch of Firefox named Seamonkey.
In the browser Firefox , after logging out of Ebay on the tablet, I went to the desktop on Seamonkey (Win 10), removed all cookies and other non-important items, (in Seamonkey under tools [clear private data]).
Also to note that Firefox and Seamonkey may share cookies, as I found in my experiences.
This seems to have worked as the browser does not have "See full item description" any more showing up. As a result, I can use the browser and see the full description with no problems.
This may be of help to others who have this problem.
Just remember to log out of Ebay on all Iphones and tablets with your user name on Ebay.
This may affect the browsers on desktops and laptops when logging in to Ebay with the same user name.
By the way, I am thinking that maybe the Ebay programmers may have a way to separate the use of cookies and settings on Iphones, tablets, etc. as compared to the larger formats such as desktops, and laptops.
Some thoughts along the way.
Thanks all for your responses.

I know these posts take a lot of time. I have Firefox as a browser I've seen the Full Item disclosure button twice on same day when I went to two sellers items who sell music. So now I know what it looks like! I hit it for one item and full disclosure of details. Second seller who had button when I pushed button for full description the page was blank. ????
Ebay has been very inconsistent and caused a lot of havoc! Sellers will be getting a lot of used items returned (like in music LPs, CD,s and books). Full description is an absolute necessity to avoid returns.
It was STOPPED for a week or two recently. Now it's back.
Someone posted EBay wants to be accessable to all mobile devices. That is why this "push button thing" is happening.
I like EBay because it is a more individual seller/buyer site.
Thanks for the research you did. I have your back if you need it. Quality at a good price. That's the EBay I want and sounds like you do to. Your investment for descriptions of your item is being completely ignored.... I'd be livid if it happened to me... I'm a buyer who has issues. I want to know what I'm buying and not have to return items that are not what I expected. Bring on the Full Description again!

When I was getting the see description button before when they were testing it didn't have anything to do with iphone, tablet etc because I don't have any of those. I only have 1 computer and it was happening on that ... one computer using Firefox, running Windows 10 with a huge monitor. I was able to escape from it by going into the Options in Firefox and just deleting all of the eBay cookies. Then it went back to normal description viewing.

I'm thinking that ebay should just drop this garbage and put it back to reality.
No one wants to click again to see something that they already clicked on to see, no matter what browser or from where.
Now, if they want to junk up the app like this, fine, I would never download it. But a smartphone with full browsing capabilities don't need no stinkin' mobile site.
