Hello fellow ebay sellers, I am just starting out here on ebay and trying to figure it out quickly in order to catch some of what's left of the Christmas rush. I am used to selling on the Mercari where things are much different and pretty simple. So my first listing sold by way of best offer and the buyer was great! Quickly responded to my payment reminder/ invoice and made payment promptly ;). For me a successful sell creates confidence therefore inspires me to list, list, list! Near immediate offers on each (9 of 14) higher then my starting price on each therefore Boosting my expectations (upon acceptance of course; as it would most newbies). Instead of these offers having to same outcome as my first (8 of 9) have not been paid? It's frustrating because i've had to end the auctions and wait the 4days which takes my items out of the race so to speak. By the time i'm able to relist i'll have missed the Christmas rush unless im lucky enough to get a local buyer. So i can't help but feel like a bit of sabotage is going on? Buyers are all new to ebay, although they all show the # w/100% positive feedback next to their name but once clicked on states that feedback is private? My theory is that my listing is being bumped by possible competition who may possibly feel threatened by my listing? Might be trippin lol but you never know these days? I know I wish the best for my fellow resellers as well I as do for everyone and everything!! I can't wrap my head around ill will... Anyways just thought id share since i'm new here;) . Best of luck in your sells and happy holidays to each of you!!
Thanks

Most sellers don't have the time for such shenanigans.
Lots of sellers do complain abut non-paying bidders, but I doubt it's sabotage.

Personally, I would be more inclined to think that as a new seller you are being targeted by scammers. Reg flag for sure when a buyer offers you more than you are asking!!
Most seller are "in it to win it" and don't have the time to be playing such games. Besides the obvious which is that we have WAT too much integrity to do what you are suggesting.
Hang in there, it does get better. Good luck

Look at your sold items, almost all your auctions only got 1 bid.
Do away with auctions and best offer and list as a fixed price with immediate payment required and you'll get rid of the nonpayers.

New sellers probably do best with fixed priced listing with immediate payment required.........then "sport" bidders don't bother you........
Also, just for information.........anything over $750 should have "signature required" when mailing.....and that should be in the listing so buyers are aware......... I presume you would NOT have mailed that $12,000 item first class mail..........

More than likely your bids were from individuals hoping to trick you into shipping without actually being paid. New sellers selling high dollar items run into that often.

My first advice is to quit doing auctions. Very few do auctions accepting offers like you are doing. The fact you only have 1 feedback rating would make most buyers nervous for your high priced items. You have some nice things, but I would try buy it now price only with offers. If your have lower priced item to sell list them in order to increase sales and get some feedback.

"immediate offers on each (9 of 14) higher then my starting price on each "
this is not sabotage at all and its not beginners luck
ebayers are trying to rip you off and trick you
new sellers are a magnet for scams
its best to just use buy it nows with immediate payment.
doing this will cut down on the scammers who are targeting you
welcome to the forum and ebay selling, please come back if you have any questions or problems

As others mentioned you are a pretty new seller so try to avoid using auctions for items you can determine an average market value for. Also be aware that eBay provides little to no protection for the seller and that scams and theft appear to be on the rise. Listing things like a $12K Rolex watch band are risky for a seasoned seller and even more so for a newer seller.
Remember the #1 rule as a seller and that is to never list anything you are not prepared to take a loss on. You may want to review the eBay MBG and search this forum for examples of how sellers have been scammed out of merchandise.

If anyone buys from you now and expects to receive it by Christmas, they will be disappointed.
As far as those nonpayers are concerned, you ARE cancelling after 4 days, right?
And, suggestion, it's easier to read a post when it's divided into paragraphs.

So I have a person wanting to buy a Rolex from me, but has not paid yet. Requesting I send pictures to a personal email. Scam? What’s the play?

They want your email so they can send you a fake email saying you been paid hoping you'll ship before you find out it was a scam.
