item specifics are wrong for listed item

Hi, Iam trying to list a book about thimble collectingbut the item specifics are not for a book they are for thimbles not thimble collecting. What can I do about this. Thanks

You should edit your listing and change category to "books".    I guess EBAY bots saw the word "thimble" and put your item in the "thimble" category.   Even Ai makes mistakes sometimes.

If you are using an ISBN code for the book, eliminate it, and just enter "Does not apply."

Then you can correct any of the item specifics that eBay may have erroneously entered for that ISBN.

that not what I get the item specifics the for wants are for an item not a book

See if you can locate another copy by the title on eBay and do a "sell similar".   

Modify/edit for your book and submit.

You have the ability to ADD your own Item Specifics.  I do that all the time when I need something the regular ones are not offering me.  It isn't hard to do.  The option is in the listing form.

You can create your OWN item specifics -- just delete the item specifics suppled by eBay, and create your own.

No need to use the eBay model, which is obviously wrong.

Are you saying that all the item specifics in the "Books" category are for thimbles? If so, you need to report this to eBay.

Or are you saying that you are trying to list a book in the thimble category? If so, you will need to switch to the Books category if you want to use the item specifics for Books.

Item specifics is just another area that the EBay IT folks got lazy with when they built it. They tried to cover the world with the categories and ended up with totally useless additions.

Interesting.........I went to feedback page where it showed the same thing as on the board, clicked on received as a seller.......then on all feedback received and it "lost" the shooting star.

You don't have to delete the ones you don't want to use, it isn't required..  Just add ones that work for you.

I don't find them "useless".  The Ebay search engine searches the titles AND ISBs [item specific boxes].  So it gives sellers the opportunity to add more information about what they are selling that may increase the returns when searched.
