item returned as undeliverable. do I get a 'ding'?

Buyer says address is fine but it was returned as undeliverable (they think it went to a 'neighbor' who sent it back instead of giving it to them).  

I know I can go thru paypal for the new shipping label cost as they want me to resend 

However, do I get a 'ding' for the package never having been delivered?

What does tracking actually show? Was there attempted delivery? Were there notations on the package?

ebay tracking shows 'sent' but never delivered.

USPS reported the following about your shipment: Return to Sender. Check with USPS for additional details.

USPS tracking says "Your item was returned to the sender on November 13, 2024 at 11:40 am in GARWOOD, NJ 07027 because it could not be delivered as addressed". 

the envelope has the return sticker on it from the PO as

"attempted unknown - unable to forward'

'return to sender'

I sent a picture to the buyer of the envelope and they said the address was correct. 

I will recheck with them

but, mY question is, will ebay give me a ding as a package not delivered?

No ding if tracking shows 'returned/undeliverable'.

FWIW

EBay does not require you to refund anything for an Undeliverable shipment.

That includes errors on the part of the carrier.

Most sellers will refund only the selling price, not their cost of shipping.

I get a few every month...buyers don't contact me so I don't contact them...Never had to refund anyone yet.

Some buyers are using bogus addresses...a house for sale, a forest, a barn and so on.

Some buyers are no longer a registered buyer on eBay...the reason goes on.
