listed 15 things yesterday and had them all laying on my table to tag and put up today but 4 of them sold overnight so i was getting them ready for Monday and one of the sold items has went missing, it just does not seem possible, have looked high and low, retraced every step I have taken and have basically gave up, just hoping it drops out of the black hole it disappeared into by Monday.

It always seems to be close to where you took the pictures or left them. Look closer and under everything. Also, if you have a doggie, check to see if they might have dragged it under their bed. 🐕
I am assuming you did not pack them yet but if you did, is it possible you packed the extra with another?
Good luck

When I've done this, invariably the item has gotten somehow taken up with another item I was dealing with and got put away somewhere or, since I sell mostly clothing, got tangled up with something else I put on the Z rack. Now where that "somewhere" might be is a whole other frustration.

I have 2 young dogs and they have not been cleared of any wrongdoing yet, it is a building with a dog door and I have looked where they normally take items for destruction and found no evidence.

Did you COUNT to see if correct # is on the table?.........lol...... I go with Chevy......it's usually NEAR the first place I look........underneath something, on the floor underneath furniture, if there's a couch, look under the cushions.......where did I go immediately after listing.....
Good luck!!!

We have always found turning around clockwise 4 times and then turning around counterclockwise one time works. Wait maybe that was 4 times counterclockwise and one time clockwise. Now I have lost myself.

I swear that sometimes you can look straight AT something and not actually SEE it.
How else to explain the times you KNOW you looked where it should be and it wasn't there, but then there it is after you've looked absolutely everywhere else.

It's hanging out with the puzzle pieces, socks and that missing spoon behind the dryer.
Been there, done that
We got a bid on a tiny toy train item - size of a matchbook. Moved it to the 'with bids' box. Never was paid for. Forgot about so never moved back to train box.
Months later it was back up and bid on again. Went to move and of course it's not in train box. Luckily before we cancelled bid/listing another item - first time listing so in the 'new stuff' box behind me - got a bid and I grabbed the bid box to put it in and notice the tiny train package. If second item had been a relisted item it would have been in other room and just 'dropped in' bid box as I walked past.
Good luck finding it.

Does this happen very often?
I have a poltergeist in my house.
She plays tricks on me. One of them is to hide stuff.
Example: I have my favorite pipe, if it's not in my hand it's next to my chair.
It disappeared once for two days -- then reappeared.
I searched like a cop. It was not in that room.
Two days later ... it's back, right where I left it.
If I leave the toilet seat up, she SLAMS it down in the middle of the night.
Wakes wifey up (and me).
She moves stuff around, hides stuff.
Just playful. Trickery.
When you walk thru the house, are there unexplained spikes of temperature?
Do you hear knocking (especially in threes) but nobody is there? Voices muttering?
Ever wake up with an unexplained non-painful bruise?
Ever been woke up by getting poked? (get your mind outta the gutter, now ...)
Not all mean harm. We've made peace with out roomie and we get along pretty well.
I anger her sometimes if I forget the toilet seat ... but, she has never messed with inventory or equipment needed for eBay.
Maybe you got one too?

I've always found the sure way to find something is not to look for it.
Wander around, do something else, and chances are you'll just stumble upon it.

I sell stamps and couldn't find one...It stuck on the bottom of my foot and didn't notice it until I was taking a shower.
Always offer something else to buyer to replace item not found and tell buyer you will send it free if it is found.
Maybe give the buyer a little extra spending power. It's what I would do.
Doing 'out of stock' or refund is the 'kiss of death' on eBay.

No, but there is the 5th Dimension.
I hear songs like Sweet Blindness and Aquarius/Let the Sunshine in. 😄 😄 😄

there is indeed.
my items have entered it multiple times.
Also happens with non-eBay items as well.
Dealing with it on an item not yet listed. I have the item. Knew right where it was. Put my hand on it near instantly, but the item also has clips and screws to mount it. They were not with the item, nor were they in the alternate expected location where they had been for years.

I sometimes can't find stuff, but I remind myself if a listing exists and a photo was taken, I had to have had the item at one time. So that's when I investigate to see if it's a duplicate listing, or went back to the B&M store without being removed from inventory, etc, etc.
Just do something else for a bit that lets your mind wander... you might remember what you did with it. Works for me.

Got teens or grandkids in the house? I usually found what I was looking for in my youngest son's bedroom, with a sheepish look on his face and a reply of "hmmm, now how did that get here?". That was up until about 10 years ago when I was selling lots of sealed DVDs. It stopped when I took the TV and DVD player out of this bedroom.
Cheers, and Happy New Year, Everybody!
