Any help/guidance appreciated , have a great weekend everyone !

When you access Paypal there are several links across the top of the page. One of them is "activity". That will bring up the running balance.
As an alternative, on the summary page showing your current balance, to the right is a link that says "Activity (including balance & fees)."

thanks Richard1rst but that's not working for me.
Am toggling between where you say to look and my account there, those options are not there for me.
I just want to see "all activity with balance" but just can't find it today.
Just a couple days ago I could toggle between " simple" or " detailed" and see it via " detailed" but not seeing those choices today...just " statements" where I used to have those other choices.
Well...am tired and will take another peek tomorrow.

can anyone else give me some ideas to try...just tried again, problem still exist.
When I look at my account activity, I can no longer see the account balance after each transaction. The button to see "detailed" information that used to allow you to see the account balance after each transaction has been removed.
Hopefully they have not taken away the " history view all activity with balance option" .

My running balance is also missing. The only way I could find it is through a link on the statements page.
Activity -- Statements -- Account Statements (PDF) -- Go to History
On that page select the All activity (with balance) view option.

ok, thanks guys. Now the $ 20 question is how do you get to those pages from the newer white space page? I guess maybe I can save the " classic " view as a desktop shortcut and hopefully it will take me to it everytime, will give it a try.

That's what I do. I have that classic link on my Firefox bookmarks toolbar, and always use that to get to PayPal, or to get back to the classic view if I get kicked into a whitespace view while navigating around on the PayPal website.
Some PayPal functions (wallet, settings, etc) are only the newer view/layout and have to live with them, but I loathe the new layout for transaction summary, transaction details, etc and use the classic view.
(There is going to be a lot of &^^#%$! *bleeping* the day they lock me out of the classic view for good 🙂
Thank you so much , it works like a charm saving it to my desktop now.
I too just can't stand the new layout, it leaves a LOT to be desired. We pay them 2.9% + .30cents per transaction...the least they could do is to provide some basic bookeeping for us to be able to follow and check their math.
Yes...I would be super ticked off too the day they lock us out of the classic view !

May I rant?
This is just so typical of PayPal, it seems to be maintained by people with their heads stuck in some dysfunctional, myopic, tech cloud that seems to think that people (i.e. users) are simply an impediment to making the system work the way they think we should use it - don'r midn us, we're only the cusomers. GRRRRRR!!

HELP! Even when I go into the old history page it allows me to select "all activities with balance" but balance only shows each transaction total, not a running total of my Paypal balance as it changes with each purchase or sale

I was just on the phone with Paypal for the second time regarding not being able to find a running balance option. I have tried everything! Evidently only way to get a running balance now is to download a custom statement for a particular time period. It should be available within a few minutes. I cannot believe this is really the only way to get access to something which should be so simple. I was also told the classic site which showed this is no longer available. If anyone else knows how to obtain a running balance, please let me know. Thanks!
