What is causing my 250 Free listings to decrease on their own?
it use to not do this, and i had hundreds of items listed that renewed on their own, and my free listings did not decrease.
so what setting do i need to change to keep this from happening.

You have 1,900+ active listings. Each time one renews it uses up a free insertion.
You should really invest in an eBay store as that amount of listings will cost you a bundle to carry each month.

I had noticed it was doing this earlier this week but it has corrected since then. it was counting the items that were relisting after their 30 days ran.

You have over 1900 listings, why don't you have a store? Those 250 should be the least of your worries considering how much you are paying in listing fees compared to store cost.
Rollover listings count against the 250 free listings, so maybe that is where the short fall is coming from.

This is exactly how it works. Every month, new listings plus those that are relisting on their own after 30 days count against your free 250.

I'm not sure about that because it was counting the relists against the free insertions but then it corrected and is not counting the relists against the free insertions anymore and the count is correct again. idk how anything works though I just take the picture and put it in a box and don't question anything else haha.

How long have you had this number of items listed?

the other responders are correct. You are charged an insertion fee (or it counts toward your monthly free listings) when you first list your item, and again each time it renews in the following months. Fixed price listings renew every month, on the same day of the month, until they are sold or you end them. You may not have realized it, but that's how it works, and it's how it has always worked.

Hi @2020dbz . Can you check your payment transactions to see if you have been traditionally charged insertion fees for listings over the 250 free?

idk how anything works though
IMHO if you are going to continue to sell here it would behoove you to learn how EVERTHING works on eBay.

I'm having the same issue. I've been using ebay for 5 years now. Over time i managed to get mine up to over 700 listings. There was months that i barely listed anything and the only free listings it took were ones that ended. That said unsold so i relisted them. Now all the sudden my free listings drop like crazy. Without listing or relisting anything. So why all the sudden the change ? Only thing i can think is that it was a glitch and they finally caught it. Otherwise i don't know why for 5 years it didn't do this and now does.
