Hi - does anyone know if ebay will be offering any kind of fee relief due to slumping sales because of the corona virus? I may have to cancel my store subscription because I'm not making enough money to pay the fees!!
My sales were down over 35% in 2019 and 2020 is off to a VERY slow start

Absolutely! They won't charge you FVF on any of the items that don't sell due to the corona virus.
There is only one way that eBay will reduce fees. That is if the number crunchers determine that by reducing fees they will have more sellers selling more items and that they will actually make more money as a result.
That's the opposite approach than what they've been doing for the past 20+ years, so don't hold your breath.

I am sure some sellers will be negatively impacted by societal changes and reactions to the virus, but other sellers may benefit. Perhaps you could just reduce the size of your store if your sales have slowed.

Hi Bruce....Went to your listing page & the 1st item I saw was this:
-Priced at $45...let's see what your competition is asking for it:
-Hmmmm...looks like your price is much higher than most, but maybe this is an in demand item & they're not asking enough, so let's take a look at what it's actually been selling for...uh-oh!:
- I didn't cherry pick this example...just took the 1st you had listed...but If this is typical, maybe you need to go thru your stuff & see what it's actually selling for & adjust your asking prices...hope this helps.

My B&M job was doing quite brisk business today despite everything. I should note that we're a department store, not a grocery store or pharmacy, so it isn't like we sell necessities.

I asked a blue about this earlier this week, but the reply seemed not to understand what I meant - all I was told was a reminder that it was ok to cancel sales at the buyer's request.
All I can say is if they don't offer at least a compromise, it will be one more reason to add to the growing list of why to NOT renew my 10+ year store subscription this summer.

Come back to Kansas Dorothy....
If anything they're probably thinking of ways right now how they can raise fees and make it look like you're doing you a favor.
Their losing a lot of sellers on a daily basis.

I wonder how many new accounts were opened in the past 3-4 weeks.
I wonder how many were shut down?
There seems to be an increase in posts from disgruntled banned or restricted sellers.

wow, what an interesting thought! but no, they have no mercy genes. They are trembling from the FOR SURE losses they will feel after we sellers get beat up first. We don't earn=they don't earn.

Just got a 200 free listing offer yesterday...so that's some fee relief.

It's pretty random if one gets one or not.

Ebay is not going to respond to a social crisis that will decrease its revenue by decreasing its revenue.
The only way cutting fees will increase ebay's revenue is if things get really, really, REALLY bad. Let's hope it doesn't go that far.

If the sellers are making less money, that means ebay is also making less money.
What makes you think ebay would offer you a discount?
Would you offer your customers a discount on your items because they (Bob the plumber, Sue the baker, Joe the mechanic) are making less money?
Just to clarify as some of us will remember Joe is the plumber and that makes Bob the mechanic.😊

I used to get free listing promotions too, but that, like my sales, has also dried up.
