So yesterday I got 11 messages from one buyer. I answered the first few, but Saturday afternoons and evenings are "family time" here and I don't use the computer (which makes it difficult to answer when I'm being asked about specific coins, there's information on my computer I need to negotiate a deal).
Anyway after I stopped answering, the last 5 messages came in. I commented to my partner over dinner that he was messaging me once every hour. My partner said "be nice, he's probably stuck indoors and bored and he's doing his hobby." So on that note, I replied to the last message and said "I got all your messages, but I'm offline tonight, I'll reply in the morning."
So this morning I logged in and read the notes. Each note is asking about a few more coins that he's interested in. (He bought one coin last night too, he was the recipient of an offer I sent out yesterday morning). I just replied to all the messages with one response and listed each coin he asked about making a deal on.
Well today he's reviewing my response and will be making some more purchases today. I gave him some of the discounts he was asking for, when possible, and since he bought one coin so far, I'm reasonably certain he'll buy more coins.
So the moral of the story is maybe don't get too annoyed with messages unless it's apparent they want a penpal.

I agree. Some buyers just need more handholding than others.

As long as the messages result in a sale, it's ok. If a buyer is up to no good, they are blocked.

Yay for a good outcome. I've had both types of buyers, and unless they are rude and insulting, I try to respond.
Maybe it is the times, or this board, but my nerves are more on edge than ever in my life right now, so I was a rebel and didn't respond to a question recently. It's the only one I can recall not responding to in all my years of selling here. It wasn't even a big deal, but when someone asks me for discount, I prefer they not insult my item and use the 'lol' when referring to my asking price. Petty on my part, probably, but I couldn't bring myself to give the discount after that and didn't even respond. I'd rather just eat the cards.

Point well taken. These messages were asking about various items in the store, but instead of one message with all the items he decided to message me 11 times. He bought a bunch of the items he was asking about earlier today, so it's all good.

The culture on the site wasn't great originally, and the world pandemic just makes it worse. (Which I'm sick of discussing btw, I just read the daily news bulletin in case there's something new or important).
The effect of what's happened is causing an economic crisis. I spent my entire day today packing items to ship and am not quite close to done as sales keep coming in all day. This is great, but Sunday is a day off of work for me so I would like to spend some time with my family. My partner has his own work crisis that he's dealing with today, so I'm glad the sales today are keeping me busy.

Were any of those messages "What are you wearing?" 😉
