Because Ebay doesn't have a Call Center like they did Pre-Pandemic.

When the Call Back button isn't available, it is likely because there is not enough staff to allow for that function. Same happens with the Chat, it isn't always available either.

What's your issue? The sellers on this board have hundreds of years of combined experience and probably experienced any issue you can think about selling on eBay.

No that isn't correct either. We all have the same access to Customer Service. There use to be a special service for Anchor store level, but they recently stopped that.
I said this earlier and I'll just repeat myself here. Not all options for CS is available 24/7. Sometimes Chat isn't available or the Call back due to staffing. But there are other ways in which to get CS during those times.
Here are your options for contacting Ebay Customer Service. Please be aware that for social media CS, you send them a Private Message and briefly explain what your problem or issue is. Feel free to leave your Name, address, phone number and/or your email address in this message. It is private and secure and it may help to speed up the response for you.

Your options will be on the left. If you use the link below you can only get to the Automated Assistant or Chat box type AGENT in the box and hit enter. You will then get more options. Not all options are available 24/7. It will depend on staffing available. So sometimes you can request a call back and sometimes you can't. Sometimes you have the Chat option available and other times it won't me. If it is important to you to use one of those options, just try back later.
If you use a cell phone or other mobile device, you may need to turn off your Spam filter so that Ebay can call you.
If you are a seller outside of the US or Canada, you will need to use the Chat Option.

Did not see that anyone else had mentioned this, but most problems on eBay can be resolved without actually contacting eBay.
Had a nonpaying bidder? Cancel after 96 hours, citing "buyer did not pay" as the reason.
You are a buyer who did not receive your purchase? One day after estimated delivery date, open an item not received case.
Did receive it, but it's not as described? You have 30 days to open an item not as described case.

Thanks for all of the input but ebay CS has always been kind of a joke and now it is getting worse/ this was about a glitch in the system concerning my preferences that was supposed to be fixed months ago and, no surprise here, has not. CS reps have acknowledged the glitch and have "assured" me that it would be fixed. I am winding down my ebay store and going where the sales are better anyway, best luck to all

The post and link from @nooksandcranniesllc did have a 3rd option to call eBay, but the whole post was removed. I did click on the link in that removed post and there were 3 options showing, chat, call back and call eBay.

I wonder if eBay has as little faith in the viability of Twitter/X as most of the world does?

The phone reps have a terrible reputation for getting you off the phone as soon as possible even if that means giving you the advice you want to hear instead of the advice you need to have.

The social media Chat accounts are covered by trained eBay employees with some authority.
And you get a transcript so you can compare what you heard with what you were told.

Yes it was announced in the Fall Seller Update.
