eBay shouldn't let the buyer leave a negative feedback without contacting the seller at least one time. How should a seller know if a buyer is unhappy and fix the problem or get the item retuned and refund the buyer? eBay should set a filter that a buyer before leaving a negative or neutral feedback at least contact the seller for the issue and if no reply or no issue fixed by the seller then let the buyer leave a feedback. A buyer just left a N. feedback without contacting us and complaining the price, ok if the price is high so why did you buy it or if you receive it and think it doesn't worth simply return it, not keeping the item and claiming that the price is high. This particular buyer has left 17 Negative feedback out of 32 to different sellers which is not normal.

I always refund people who are not happy with their purchases, so I went ahead and did that, I told her I was sorry she wasnt happy with her purchase, that I had provided her with 100% refund as soon as I saw the feedback and next time to contact me if she has any issues so we can promptly resolve them for her. Got a hostile email back stating that I was attempting to bribe. I replied very nicely again, stating that No, she had every right to write her opinion, but that communication in ebay is important for everybody to have a succesful expreience. Never once had a complaint of quality in this particular item, if she got one that was a dud I would have liked to investigate the issue so it does not happen again. I was beyond accomodating, and this lady was absolutely ridiculous. Looked at her feedback, everytime she buys jewelry she does not like it, even accused a seller of selling her a fake purse without any proof.
The follow-up you posted to the neutral just put a target on your back. I see no reason to refund unless the buyer returned the item. This has trained too many buyers to be bad buyers.

I never said they should be reported for that.
OP states: This particular buyer has left 17 Negative feedback out of 32 to different sellers which is not normal.
I was referring to the buyer who had a very high rate of negs left. That is more than 50% negative feedback left. That could be feedback abuse.

What you said is right for a sick buyer and not a normal one, If there is filter to have the buyer first contact the seller and if the seller is not helpful, then it is ok to leave any feedback. But how should a seller who mentioned detailed description and added clear pictures know that the buyer is not happy after 17 days of delivery? They need to communicate.
I agree, but sellers may abuse the buyer, insult them, call them names, use profanity, even in cases where the seller is at fault. If the buyer has gone through that, they may not want to bother but may just go to feedback.
That said, there is also no guarantee if the buyer contacts you and you resolve the issue that there will not still be negative feedback left.

@tellmemama wrote:There is no requirement to contact before leaving feedback but it would be the responsible thing to do. Especially if the buyer wants the seller to fix the problem. Leaving a neg first is certainly not going to motivate the seller to help. That said, this is an old trick. Buyer leaves a neg with no prior contact...seller asks why...buyer offers to revise if they could get a partial refund.
Particularly when the complaint in the OP's neg is about price.
Yes, this could be true, Joe.

This is puzzling, if she got one that was a dud, so I believe you are drop shipping, because otherwise you would see before sending it if it was a dud or not.
