Did you mean:

eBay is not taking any responsibility for returns.

I sold a $225 item.

Buyer gets it, claims something on it doesn't work.

I walk him through some stuff to check, he refuses.

As buyer to call manufacturer for help, he refuses.

The issue with the item is really simple, but I can't be much help without seeing it.

Buyer asks eBay to return, they grant him his wish (what else do you expect?).

Buyer sends the item back in an oversized box, with 5 paper bags wrapped around it.

Item is caved in, dented, and now tore up to bits.

Call eBay, they literally ask me "get the buyer to admit he didn't use enough packaging".

Yes, eBay wants you to play detective with the buyer..

So they said "only other thing is to contact the post office".

For whatever reason, the return was shipped back with only $50 insurance!

So now what? I can't use an insurance claim because there is no insurance.

bargains being a fellow Iowan you catching on pretty quickly how the system works. Next time you list a electronic item just stupid list it and it will save you a lot of headache. Just put Parts or Repair in the title and looks nice to me in the description and it will never come back and will sell for what a perfect working item sells for because buyers never read anything....

Nope. I used a double wall heavy duty box.

The box the buyer used, had been used beforehand, but not by me.

It's a real thin box.
