eBay is dead. Where are the sales?

A continuance.

All I'm going to add is that ever since the new recent changes rolled out, eBay sales and listing views are virtually non existent on our end. Hopefully this isn't a sign of future fate. I love selling on eBay and have for years, it looks like it's not loving us back anymore. What's going on?

Re: eBay is dead. Where are the sales?

When I checked completed listing prior  9IT'S BEEN A WHILE) they were averaging 99.00 plus sold for ones in clean condition as variants do count, and it's been there a little while. Anyway, that is probably something I'll end up taking to the swap meet for a fast 50 bucks soon. Somethings I know are stupid asking prices and usually with a fair best offer if they bite., most a competitive or below.

Plus, I'm seeing a drastic drop in "views" I understand the sales ebb and flow, yet the views remained consistent in the past which isn't the case as of lately. I find that the most frightening for the future

Didn't know that, still I think the human composite is recently lacking. It wasn't all a bunch of bots "back in the day" and someone was buying. And just think! Had to pay them extra to promote that one listing just to get 3 live views... Oh Boy! What - a - deal! Thank you eBay, I can sleep better now, LOL

Re: eBay is dead. Where are the sales?

only received 3 views. Three lousy views. Guess that was then and this is now.

BAck in the day, Views were permanent.

Last year eBay stopped reporting Views from bots and  search engines.

So the Views you see now are from human beings.

And they only reflect the last 30 days.

So those are three human beings who actually looked at (and rejected)your listing.

So are you saying that with Ebays Reported Audience of (year 2022) 138 Million that the seller only received 3 views ? Hmm, so did Ebays Audience that actually come to Ebay anymore shrink for 2023 ?

Just trying to give you some helpful advice. Why take your item to the flea market for $50 when you can lower the price to $50 and get a sale within a week. The point is the higher your overall sell-through rate the higher your items move up the chain on best match. The more sales the more exposure on your listings. Many who claim Ebay is dead do not understand that when they have 2,000 items listed and only sell 20 in a month in oversaturated categories their items will appear on page 32. Buyers never search that far down the list.

I'm good with 50 bucks, seeing as I will be there selling anyways. Do note, that item is set for 69.00 in auction format right now. Probably a final attempt to move it here.

I figured when they run out of ice cream and gasoline is when they'll finally pull the societal plug on us

But yeah, I see some truth in that statement. How can one not for it's looking right at us.

Re: eBay is dead. Where are the sales?

Just a note on the economy excuse:

There were no empty seats at Super Bowl,  with many seats scalped in multi Thousands

Taylor Swift concerts sell out in 2 seconds,  with many seats being scalped in mult Thousands

Housing marked still strong (not as strong as a year ago,  but still strong)

Every time I go to Wal-Mart,  no matter time of day,  parking lot is jam-packed with long wait to park

People clearly still have money to spend, or Fed wouldn't keep raising interest rates

My sales are so far down it is depressing,  lucky to get 2 sales a week,  and about a fourth of my items are only ones on ebay.   Have slashed prices many times,  hardly any views.    I even promoted 15 items at ebay's rates (which I told myself I would never do),  and still poor results.

My guess is those rich folks who went to the Superbowl and Taylor Swift concerts do not go to Ebay for barbies.

@sakic92710   No need for proof at all. Ask any millionaire if they shop for cheap barbies on Ebay. I am 1,000 % confident they don't.
