eBay is dead. Where are the sales?

A continuance.

All I'm going to add is that ever since the new recent changes rolled out, eBay sales and listing views are virtually non existent on our end. Hopefully this isn't a sign of future fate. I love selling on eBay and have for years, it looks like it's not loving us back anymore. What's going on?

eBay is dead. Where are the sales?

Attempted promoted listings before without any positive results. Promoted one item just recently that back in the day would have averaged a lot of views even if it didn't sell. Paid for promoted listings for that item and only received 3 views. Three lousy views.

Promotions only get you impressions = eyeballs on your listing. Not Views.

Promotions, no matter how much you pay, cannot make a person "click" on (view) your item. That part is up to you - your title, your #1 photo, your price compared to the others on the page and, of course, the desirability of your item.

I know nothing of the Barbie market HOWEVER they're all over the place now.  Big Lots, have saw them at Ollies and varied so-called "Budget" stores.  I know there are collectors and/or collectibles, I mean, when I was really little I'd a thing for Skipper but I wasn't and still ain't no Ken.  I remember about 10 years+ back I went to a yard sale and the proprietor had enough Barbie's to overrun Bermuda and I bought em' all for few hundred clams.  We put em' in a retail store and watched them age and age and age.  Some of them were worth some money but trying sell em' was to say the least problematic.  We ended up taking them to a flea market for $5 each and still wasn't able just rid of them.  I still have some albeit I've no clue "Who" they are and they ain't talkin!

Historically for me, February has been the worse month for sales of the year.

Hang in there, things will improved. They always have for me.

For me February and a lot of March are like old dead fish until Transition season hits (clothing and accessories, plus bike parts because people are getting on the road again) - I'm still chugging along, though.  For my sales the secondary market seems to lag the primary market and stay more in tune with the seasons.  So, it starts getting warm/cold and people in the secondary market come shopping for what they need right now despite the fact that B&Ms have been pushing the merch for months already, because here "right now" changes constantly because the selection changes constantly.

My one rule is you get out of this what you put into it, though I know sometimes it doesn't seem that way.

There's a live action Barbie movie coming out this Summer, with Margot Robie as Barbie. If it is successful, it will likely help the secondary market....and some people might be buying now with the idea of selling Barbie stuff later this summer. Just an FYI for those discussing the Barbie market.

I'm talking about your comment that you post 4-5 new listings per day & get 3 sales.  I'm talking about your previous comment that you have a 60% sell through rate.  Unless you are selling $5 for $3, I'd like proof of your claims.  🙂

I, as well, have seen a pretty noticeable dip is sales this month. On Feb 7, my organic and promoted listing impressions and views drop dramatically by 70% overnight. I saw it immediately and cancelled the promoted listings and started a new one. It helped a lot and went back to almost normal. I am still getting sales but it is slowly trickling and declining. I have looked back into recently years and even 5-7 years ago and it is definitely at an all time low. I am always a very consistent and high value item seller but this trend is not looking good.

In the past, I thought maybe ebay was screwing things up (I still kind of do and think ebay has some to do with declining sells with their silly updates) but now I strongly believe the economy is killing business and everything is priced so high (I am cutting back a lot and not even buying things I know I need, but I just can't bring myself to buy them). And I sell luxury items so of course things are going to be slower for me.

I just hope business gets better but I feel like this is going to be long ride. Hold on tight.

If you fall below ebay standers they will add 5-6% on your fees and place filters on the items you are selling so customers searching for your items may not see them, I just removed over $10,000 of product after I have been with them over 23 Years. The customer service has vanished. They Just Dont Care.
