eBay invite.........

Received an email (not through eBay's email system) with an invite to join a live webinar about joining "eBay US Customer Support Services". Email was titled "Earn money helping other sellers on eBay". Went to the link in the email and the page appeared legit. Anyone else get this email? TIA.

@comics-scifi-collectibles OK, I never realized there were two types of templates, only ever seen the option for one. But as long as templates can be used in the new listing tool and I can have the same in description for all my listings for the category and not retype or cut and paste every time all the ordering/shipping etc... info then it's all good.
Thanks for clarifying.

It worked well in the UK.  I might be different here, but I think for sellers trying to learn the listing form or are new to Ebay it will be extremely helpful.

Sellers have enough issues trying to get questions answered.  It is my sincere hope this does work well so that at least some of the sellers can get timely answers for their needs.

I don't see how, how many people really need help making a listing? Is it really that hard? Maybe just me, this whole thing is just silly. But hey, if it works and helps, then fine, whatever, great.

@nuclearomen

There is a redesign coming of the listing form.  It will be one form unified for desktop or mobile devices.  Just one form for all of us to use.  No more QLT or ALF.

While you may not see the value in those that may need help directly from the listing form even before the redesign is released, I'm confident their are a whole lot of sellers that would hold a different opinion.  Besides Ebay wouldn't spend all this time and money launching a program that has no value to enough sellers to warrant this.  They have shown that the UK site and utilized this very well.  It is likely to be the same for the US.

yeah, well aware before this thread happened of the new listing form, i just hope before ebay rolls it out it's fully working properly unlike everything else they implement.

i don't and just because ebay does something new doesn't mean it's needed, look at all they do that isn't needed already, instead, they should be doing what is needed, like simply giving everyone access to CS over the phone or chat would be good start... giving sellers everything they need to record sales, fixing the postage receipts that haven't been sending for over a month now, fixing the log in and the notifications on the community, stop changing things that aren't broken... for example. Don't get me wrong, they do fix things once in awhile, and this program sure will help some people, is it needed as top priority, of course not.

Look, if you don't like it and don't see value in it, then don't sign up if you were invited.  It simply isn't that big of a deal.  Do it or don't do it.  You want to make this a bigger subject than it is.  While I agree there are many things on the Customer Service front that Ebay needs to pay more attention to, this will help whether you see it or not.  It is a step that will take some work load off the call center.

This isn't about all the ills of eBay.  You will never find them fixing all the problems you deem important all at the same time.  It is a process.  Sometimes we agree with them and sometimes we don't.

Or are you of the opinion they should do nothing about CS until they can fix everything?

It's yet another money saving tactic. UX is lagging, has been for a long time. The need for CS would go down if they would wok on their platform a bit. But they don't seem to be thinking very far forward.

I'm not making anything "a bigger subject then it is" I'm relying to your reply directed to me, I was done with this thread a week ago lol. I don't need a mommy to patrol my posts, I know what I wrote, know what I meant, and I know my replies were not directed to you.

I don't have an issue with contacting CS actually - ever - generally can have ebay call me within 3 min anytime I need them. I just got off the phone with EB MP few min ago actually. Seems other people do though which is why I mentioned giving everyone access.
