What is suspicious?  I sell to MANY buyers who have become members the same day they purchased from me.

If they have paid for the item you have to send it to them.  New -0- feedback buyers have been some of my best buyers.  There's nothing suspicious about it and nothing to be afraid of~~just ship the item.

The reason why I suspect is because..It says that they paid but I haven't received the money yet.

That's an important detail needed to help answer your question but more information is still needed.

If you are new to selling, then ebay may have a hold on the money.   If you received a fake email instead of an actual payment, then wait the required time and file the unpaid item case.

Yes, I'm basically new to selling. I have only sold a few items. How long would Ebay hold on to the money?

Re: dealing with a suspicous buyer question

Well the best way is to NOT list $240 high risk/high scam items on ebay until you understand the risks  of selling on ebay.

If what you say is true, then you are lucky.  Until the money shows up in your paypal account AND paypal says it's ok to ship - in your paypal account and NOT an email from paypal, then you do not ship to the buyer no matter what emails may say.

Buyers target new sellers selling high dollar items and often they mark the item paid and send a real looking fake email that says you've got cash, now ship quick.  But other scammrs will pay and then claim the box is empty, the item is broke, request a return and send back a box of rocks.  My advice to you is that when you file to get your final value fees back from ebay, you do not relist the item on ebay until you understand how to correctly deal and win the above cases when they happen on ebay.

Re: dealing with a suspicous buyer question

Be very careful listening to some scare tactics a few bring here. Even though it is true that there are scammers out there it is RARE so don't be quick to think Ebay is nothing but scammers. Some like you to believe that. OK, now on to your situation. Most likely your money is on hold. Log into your paypal and check the payment details. Make sure it says the money is on hold and OK to send. If it is OK to send then you have very little to worry about. There is a one in a million chance of having a return and getting rocks. That is for those who come here and like to scare people. If you send the item and a buyer files a claim for SNAD then return and ask questions and we can help you but most likely that will not happen. Just because you are new does not mean a scammer is hiding around the corner.

Re: dealing with a suspicous buyer question

Unless the OP has another account, the last thing the OP sold was on March 31~~2 months ago.

Re: dealing with a suspicous buyer question

DO check your paypal account to see if the money is there and that they state OK to ship.

Do NOT use a link in the paid email to check.  Email can be/sometimes are part of a scam.

If you don't receive the money in paypal, file a Un Paid item dispute as soon as you can......

The OP reports that the item sold and they don't have their money yet.

If they have shipped out the item by believing whatever the buyer messaged/marked/fake emailed them- they have been scammed - and are out the item and the money.  So for the OP, it isn't all that rare since we see some form of scam reported by newbies here every day, and unfortunately the scare tactics came too late to help them..

My signature statement stands.  If a seller has less than 50 recent (within the past year) SELLING feedback, then they should not be listing anything worth over $50 on ebay.

On ebay, does it say 'Paid' or does it say 'payment sent' when you roll over that icon?

And by 'logging into your paypal account', we mean logging DIRECTLY in - not clicking a link in an email.

But being from 3/31, there isn't anything you can do to get your fees back, or money/item if you shipped it.

Re: dealing with a suspicous buyer question

On the 3/31 sale the buyer made an offer and the OP accepted the offer.  OP left feedback for the buyer and the buyer left feedback for the OP.  It looks like there were no problems with that sale.  OP only has 2 feedback as a seller.  IF the OP sent that item off without payment there isn't anything he can do about it~~he sent the buyer a gift.
