Hope I'm in the right group here.
It's irking me lately that both sellers and buyers don't regard feedback as important. However, that's an essential component of one's status/reputation on eBay.
I recently sold some items and received zero feedback from the Buyers. As a Seller, I was polite to thank them for their purchases.
I also purchased an item recently, and again, received zero feedback from the Seller. But as a Buyer, I thanked them.
This is Rude. What has happened to "original" eBay? I miss those days. Can someone kindly enlighten me? Or am I just a Dork and can't figure out the new eBay way?
Should I leave well enough alone? Or challenge the buyers and seller who have neglected giving me Feedback.
Thanks.

EVERY site wants feedback. Insurance, all purchasing websites, banks etc....
ANYONE you talk to, buy from etc.
It has become so diluted that NOBODY cares so it's just easier to
a.) join the club
b.) don't concern yourself with it.

The leaving feedback process needs to be simplified, it shouldn't be required to type in some diatribe about how the seller was the best ever. A simple positive, negative, neutral and star rating .
I do suspect that certain buyers use the i'm not leaving feedback as some sort of agent for fraud. They know once they leave that feedback they have no options.

that is complete dribble. .......... misinformation........... having left, or not having left feedback does not change the ability for a buyer to start any actions.

I wouldn't poke the bear in regards to leaving feedback, you're correct in your assumption that most on here no longer regard feedback as important... for sellers it all went downhill in 2008 when the powers that be decided NO buyer could receive negative feedback no matter what they did. I've always left it for sellers, but I really don't pay any attention as to whether I receive it anymore.

As a buyer, I always leave feedback, if the seller doesn't leave me feedback I message them and ask them too.
As a seller, if the buyer doesn't leave feedback, I do nothing. I have learned that 90% of the time I did that years ago there ended up being some kind of issue with the buyer. No feedback is better than a problem (wanting to return, get a partial refund etc...) , a neutral or a negative feedback

Yeah um no.
If they leave positive feedback it shows that they received item and are happy with it. This is seller ammo in the event of any action by the buyer. It's also blackmail for shady buyers to hold over seller's heads when they don't leave it. I suspect many a seller has caved like wet cardboard when buyers go off the handle out of fear of getting a negative.

buncombe.
having left feedback................................... does not stop any buyer future actions, and a seller having received positive feedback for a transaction provides a seller with ....................... absolutely nothing. (except a false sense of security)
We can agree to disagree, but I am correct😐
