Like clockwork, every Sunday evening we get messages on every account that our items are in carts and we should make the deal or "eyes" are on our items, etc.! Does this sound familiar to anyone? If it happened randomly and NOT the same day every week I might think it was realistic ... opposed to just another sales ploy to entice Sellers to lower their price ... lower their price ...lower their price ...lower their price ... lower their price ... lower their price ... lower their price ... lower their price ... lower their price ... lower their price ... lower their price ...

This has happen to me several times. I tried lowering the price and nothing happened. Just ignore the message. Not sure if if worked for others but why lower your price it's your choice? After I sold some items I also received that message. That message it's a option that gets annoying.

@repair1techj ... no problem ... have been ignoring them from the day they started ... have NEVER taken eBay's advice on pricing of any kind ...only had to read those messages once and now it's just check the Delete box and off they go ... to be recycled and sent back a week later ...

I got more of those messages today as well. Even if one isn't willing to lower their prices, those messages still provide good insights into buyers interests.
I also don't think those messages originate entirely from shopping carts, but rather interested buyers. I've noticed ebay now emails me when a seller drops the price for something that interests me, even if I've never added the item to my cart or watch list.
Its really ebay's way of informing sellers about items that are of strong interest to buyers. Its also a strategy that works, as I've caved and spent hundreds over the last month on video game lots because a seller dropped their prices and ebay notified me.

Yeah you can delete them, tear them up, burn them, drown them, but they're made of some indestructible plastic titanium kryptonite and they live on.

@gamersbaystore Do you get messages when Sellers raise their price or make other changes to a listing? I "thought" I read somewhere that Watchers on an item were notified if something is changed on the listing.

@div_style LOL! Yes, they are certainly indestructible!

That's just it, it doesn't have to be on your watch list for ebay to notify you. I just got another email from ebay just now that states "2 bargains for you", 2 items I've looked at repeatedly, but wasn't sure about buying. Neither is on a watch list, and both show price drops.

I ignore them. My prices are already reasonable. They don't need to be changed..
I ESPECIALLY ignore the eBay nags since I got one for an item that I had sold 6 days earlier. A buyer put that item in the cart? Yeah, right.
Either it's a lie OR the information is much too late to be helpful. Since I can't tell which it is, I ignore.

I used to delete these emails but I look at them now. I check the items out to see if they have any watchers and how many times they have been viewed etc. I`ve played along sometimes and lowered the price to no avail. I`ve sometimes raised the price. I don`t much care if my stuff sells quickly or not. I set an initial price and every few weeks or so I lower it until it sells.
I`ve always treated selling like I was fishing. When I fish, I need to drop the right bait in front of the right fish at the right time to get a bite. On ebay, every 30 days I refresh my bait and cast back out.
Having said all this- I consider myself very lucky because I don`t have to catch a fish to eat. I very often feel for the folks that do.

These generic messages are sent by bots. These bots run on schedules. IMHO the timing of the messages has no bearing on their accuracy.

I get extremely annoyed with junk emails about “an item you are interested in “ when all I did was look at the listing, never added to watch list or cart, just looked at in passing.

The reason I don't like them is they scare me.

Perhaps that has something to do with the thought that Sunday evenings are the most popular time to be on Ebay buying? Just a thought.
