Will ebay remove negative feedback for TRS after a refund (buyer's remorse)

I got negative feedback because she is unhappy to pay the shipping fees to return (buyer's remorse). eBay confirmed that I'm not at fault in this situation.  If I refund the amount ebay's requests since I've received it ( exclude the shipping fee), will eBay remove the negative feedback? As a top-rated seller with a 30-day return policy, I was told by customer service that the feedback would be removed after the case is closed, as part of my perks. However, I'm concerned because I know the feedback doesn't violate any policies. Could you please verify if this is correct?

Please see the policy I google it, is that correct and applied to my situation?

If they are TRS, offer returns, accept the return, and refund then any negative feedback that you leave will be automatically scrubbed. It is a seller "perk".

Re: Will ebay remove negative feedback for TRS after a refund (buyer's remorse)

I found the post that you copied, then I looked at a bunch of eBay pages about feedback removal and I don't see anything specific to your issue. Note that the thread was about Not As Described abuse NOT a Remorse Return like you are dealing with.

I can say one thing, if you don't do a refund QUICK you could end up with something more serious than a neg, an unresolved by seller defect.

If there is some sort of auto-removal eBay advises to wait 72 hours for it to take effect.

After you send the refund, wait the 72 hours, if nothing happens then send a Feedback Removal Request to eBay, maybe you will get lucky!

Hi @gqan1098

You referenced a case. Did the buyer open an Item Not As Described case? Or merely a return? What reason did the buyer give for the return?  The two cases are very different in how they are handled.

As far as I know, currently the feedback protection that you mention is given to sellers who offered free returns for the transaction. Do you have free returns set up and offered?

Pretty sure in order to get feedback removed as part of the policy, you need to give the buyer a full, 100% refund.

That is the buyer's remorse in the return case, not "Not As Described case"

No free return is offered.

I want, but the system does not provide the option due to a "buyer's remorse "return.

Thank you for your response.

What reason did the buyer give for the return?

  • “Doesn't fit (usually pertains to clothing items)
  • Changed mind
  • Found a better price
  • Just didn't like it
  • Ordered by mistake”

Re: Will ebay remove negative feedback for TRS after a refund (buyer's remorse)

I just got ebay's reply,"We're glad you asked. If you are a top-rated seller, and offer at least a 30-day return window on your item, you would qualify for additional seller protection when it comes to feedback. As long as a refund is provided through the return, you would see those protections kick in automatically, within 24-hours. You can find the full details on seller protection through our help page here: http://spkl.io/61844hA8e. We're glad we had a chance to get your questions answered today. Thank you for contacting eBay, and have a great rest of your day! "

The representative didn't mention the required condition of a free return.

Thank you for posting the link, @gqan1098 . Have been fruitlessly searching policy pages for an indication negative feedback removal was a TRS perk. Didnt think it was, but wanted to see the actual policy to be certain.

That is NOT a policy.  AT least not that I'm aware of.  Please provide a link to the policy.

That is the oddest link I've seen to the Seller Protection policy EVER.
