You all do realize I can just buy a NEW item at BestBuy cheaper right? Do you not wanna sell your item? Or is there some laundering scheme going on?
For example Ratatouille 4k. $20 at bestbuy brand new. You guys are selling it for more USED. Uh hello??? BRAIN?????

Cheaper may be the most important thing you consider but not everyone.
Not everyone has a Best Buy Store near them or wants Best Buy Online to access sensitive personal financial information. There are people that value privacy so much they won't download the Best Buy app or any other store app for that matter. Using PayPal on eBay is not the same as giving Best Buy your Master Card number.
Time is money to some people so the extra $10 bucks spent to fill their cart on eBay is worth it. I can usually buy milk and bread cheaper at Walmart but if I'm shopping for finer ingredients at Piggly Wiggly I will buy there because it's cheaper in the long run than another trip to another store.
Used..... ever hear of saving the planet? There are people so committed, they will spend money to help the devasting situation of having so many humans wandering the earth.
What if on the day you go to shop Best Buy is sold out? What if Best Buy does not ship to your location?

The market works. If that movie is priced too high, it won’t sell, seller will eventually lower the price. I’m not sure why you are upset about it.

Not everybody has a Best Buy - or any other cut-throat cut-rate - in their neighborhood. Some people don't drive. Lots of people are lazy/crazy. There are those that don't care about a few dollars difference. Maybe there are a lot of reasons someone would pay extra.

Why do you find this upsetting? Any buyer who finds any price to be too high is not required to bid or buy.
And you might want to make a note that none of us are responsible for that price.
None of us are your seller. Uh hello??

And.... a search for "Ratatouille" can bring up 3 & 4 figure original art and wine bottles and other collectables.

If it were not in demand, it could not command the prices it sells for. Most things that are listed, look like "junk" to me simply because I do not want/need it. But my opinion is not the world's opinion. Sellers are here to fill a want/need of the buyer, for a fair compensation. eBay is here to get a fair compensation. The shipping carrier is here to get fair compensation. Everyone in the chain needs compensation. The buyer is the one who pays it to get the "thing" they want.
Everything has a cost. Like it or not, that's the way the world works. You are free to participate or not.
Others have pointed out reasons a buyer may be willing to spend the money. There are probably a half dozen more reasons why they do. In the end, the why isn't important, what is important is that they do.

You most definitely dont understand selling and buying on ebay. It takes a BRAIN to get it. I'm not explaining it in anyway whatsoever...
There are many ins and outs, nuances, quirks.

"There are probably a half dozen more reasons"
.... the buyer had a positive experience with that seller
.... they've had a negative experience with Best Buy
.... the shipping is faster or slower on one site or the other
.... New does not always mean better, used has already been proven it's working
.... eBay is more open to scammers
.... some buyers and sellers are challenged when it comes to math

The Sellers price their merchandise so they can cover their fees, business expenses, cost of the item, and make some profit. The best is to contact the Seller, and try to make a deal. If it doesn't work, move on to another Seller, that simple. No reason to be upset with everybody on EBay.

occasionally i check out the marketplace on another site, mostly just to laugh at the prices people ask... especially for used TVs...

Buy the cheaper one??? 🤔

oh no, is that seller forcing you to buy, and you cant hit the back button? If so, be sure to report him.
