i was looking for other coin related birthyear items (only other one i could find is the silver dish with the South African 50 cent that i've posted before) and came across this sitting on a shelf... i have a very vague memory of buying it... pretty ...
not sure if the piece is brass, copper, or bronze, but it's nice... i don't know if the whole thing hand hammered, but the edge seems to be... the coin is a 1963 Rhodesia and Nyasaland one penny bronze, mintage is 6M...
it's entombed in acrylic, not the typical aluminum encasement, but i still count it... and yes, it's cleaned/polished, as if that matters... and just for fun, here's some more non-typical encased coins... all dated 1963 of course... and for the eagle...
i bought a lot of 20 walkers in an OLD brown Whitman folder... dates were listed as 1920-1941... i thought that a bit strange because why would it not have the most common dates? the pics showed the last page with the back flyleaf folded on top of it...
this is the best coin for me from Vaultbox...
