Why does eBay send people to Facebook page to solve their issues with eBay?

I don’t sell on Facebook for too many reasons to list here.

If I start, I doubt they would send me to eBay to solve my issues there.

Why would eBay send you to Facebook to resolve issues?

@texasguava

Basically, members (buyers or sellers) that need help are directed to eBay's social media portals to actually converse with US based representatives that have some authority to help you.  Its either do that, or be stuck with bot decisions and automated actions that nobody can override. or get call backs or chats from the outsourced foreign CS reps that are famous for wrong advice and are being replaced (according to eBay) by more bots anyway.

Signing up for a facebook account does not compel you to make friends, share menus, or even participate in buy/sell groups or Marketplace.  It is simply a means to an end.  If you are have a pressing issue, your ebay "end of your problem" will come a lot faster with little recourse if you don't wish to participate in the opportunities provided.

contact thru facebook puts you in contact with more knowledgeable CSR's that are more likely to provide correct guidance, and sometimes have the ability to correct issues.

the "contact us" off-shore CSR's read from a script, go off script, may not even understand the issue, agree with you to finish the call, have no authority to resolve issues........... there being the example of a circle....... likely without resolution.

Take your pick

Welcome to 2024. Using Ebays link on Fb avoids having to deal with outsourced phone reps who give lots of bad advice, and usually dont have a clue what you are asking about. The FB reps are American, and answer promptly,politely,and are able to address the problem. Ive only dealt with them once, and was given prompt, polite, help immediately. Personally, I think its the best thing Ebay has ever done for their sellers. But to each his own.

You are free not to do this.  You can ask here and maybe someone can help answer your question.
