Why isnt ebay customer service open today?

I've tried calling ebay countless times today and Ill I get is an AI robot with long delays who doesn't understand english. After wasting my time over and over and over again, she tells me its outside of normal business hours. I need to speak to someone at Ebay and I find that every article about contacting ebay sends you down a rabbit hole where you can only choose completely non relevant reasons you need help. Ive had to cancel an order today because I cant get a hold of anyone to solve my problem and even when I cancelled the order I had to chose from only 3 completely bogus reasons for cancellation because there was no relevant options for the actual reason for cancelation. Why does ebay make it so hard to get help, and why are they closed today, its solidly inside of their posted customer service hours.

eBay has not been accepting incoming phone calls for almost 5 years.

Maybe if you post your "problem" here we can help you.

Rabbit Hole describes their "help" perfectly.  Your post hits the mark!!!!   I'm so fed up with bots, chats and run around help articles!!  Where can you get REAL help????  And since when are you not allowed to weigh items and update the shipping charge??  It generates an automatic shipping label but doesn't take into account the buyer bought 2 different bath towels and only charges shipping for one!  SO DISGUSTED!

+1 to what @slippinjimmy posted... there is NO contact number for ebay.  If you found a phone number listed online, it's a scam number.

Any ebay "customer service" contact can end up being a frustrating waste of time with no productive results.

I've been on ebay  quite a while and haven't contacted ebay customer service for a couple decades.

When I have a problem or question relating to ebay I post it on this board and usually have my issue solved in short order by the many helpful people who answer questions here, I would suggest you do the same

I have to agree that it is a burden to say the least not having a proper customer service, I think we deserve that!, But that being said you can usually find answers to your issues on this forum, from some very competent people.

Go to help, up at the top of the page.........you may have to go thru a directory, but if you type agent a couple of times, you'll eventually get a message to leave your number and they will call back...........they aren't open 24 hrs and the option may not come up if they are overwhelmed......but that's the way to get them in normal times.

eBay is not closed today, the phone number was likely bogus if you found it on the net.  If it leads to a redirect to a criminal enterprise in another country, maybe they were all asleep due to time zone differences.

Simply calling these numbers gives the criminals the user's active phone number. Once they wake up they can call back and run their scam..

Obviously I tried that, and I could never find a number or a way to connect with them. There was absolutely no published or mapped out way to get contact information for eBay on eBay. So I wonder how many times I've been scammed then trying to get a hold of eBay. Because I have never been able to find a phone number for eBay yet. I have called them several times. I have tried chat on multiple occasions and they ask you questions that are are multiple choice, and if neither choice aligns with the reason why you need help, you cannot type agent. In fact, you cannot type anything because it locks you out of typing until you select one of the two options that are not relevant to you. There is no way to get a hold of a person that an average person can find after about 4 hours of trying on Facebook's website. But thanks anyway.

Well that's unfortunate, because I must have called criminal enterprises over and over. I've spent hours upon hours trying to find phone numbers or any type of contact information on eBay and I've been completely unable to. If following any type of help, matrix has been completely unhelpful, because the only things you can get help for are a bunch of non-relevant things. Even when I use the chat box to try to talk to somebody, they ask questions that are are requiring a choice between two options that are not relevant. And you cannot proceed until you choose one of the two options you can't type agent. You can't type anything in until you choose out of one of two options that are completely irrelevant. It's pretty sad that eBay would put their sellers, their customers and their accounts at risk in such a terrible way. However, I will say that when I finally got a hold of eBay using the links provided in this community forum, he provided me with a phone number to call and I looked at my phone history and it appeared that that was indeed the correct number that I had called. And I told him that, I told him that was the number that reported that it was outside of normal business hours. Even though it was directly in the middle of the day.

If that's the case, they certainly don't have that published anywhere. In fact, I came across multiple places on their website where it said that I could speak to an agent or call an agent. I came across several places that specifically said call us on the website, so I'm not sure where you're getting your information about them not taking inbound calls

I have the same issue, unable to make any changes to shipping, random shipping policies applied for no reason, that it did not create, inability to change these random shipping policies that were created somehow that I did not create. Tons of technical errors on all of my business policies. Mountains of technical errors. No way to fix them, no way to look them up and help articles. Just absolutely exhausting. Very sad state of customer service.
